Quick Reference Sheet ORGANIZATION INDIGENOUS CULTURE AND MEDIA INNOVATIONS WHAT IT IS Organization Mandate Indigenous Culture and Media Innovations (ICMI) is an artist run multi arts organization based in Kitigan Zibi Anishnabeg and at a satellite office in Ottawa, Ontario. ICMI provides arts training, youth workshops and educational programming; using hands-on experiential learning in up-to-date, cutting edge digital technologies. ICMI offers short-term workshops at all levels of ability and technical skills, production, post-production, multimedia applications and media arts. WHAT THEY PROVIDE Key Programs & Services for Job Seekers PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Contact: Indigenous Interactive Multimedia Program - ICMI offers an innovative process that enhances entry-level skills required for acceptance to college or university interactive multimedia design programs. The program delivers two four-month sessions. During the first 4 months, participants will build interactive multi media skills through hands on learning. Then they will complete 4 months of work experience developing your skills in a professional environment. Tuition Fee is $2600 plus supplies (approximately $700). This program is a transitional program leading to university, college, or entry-level employment. The workshop does not require any prior knowledge of video production, but to effectively achieve intended results the participants are expected to be able to navigate within the applicable operating systems (Windows or Mac). • Media Arts After School Program - Designed to introduce youth to the multimedia industry. With a hands-on approach, the program develops an essential skill set for aspired multimedia designers. The program explores the fundamentals of selected applications within the Adobe Creative Suite, which could include Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver, although programs will vary to successfully fulfill desired training. • Multi Arts and Cultural Camp - Designed to pass traditional teachings in an innovative way, while keeping participants active, and expressing creativity through visual/media arts. Camp activities vary from year to year and are available to Aboriginal peoples.
