TENANT FORUMS & SOCIAL EVENTS
CALENDAR—2015
FREE TO ALL PLH TENANTS: Below you will find this years Event Calendar where there is sure to be
something of interest for everyone. You can meet other tenants and enjoy a variety of excursions and day
trips. All of the outings include a free morning tea or free lunch!
Come along to the tenant forums in your local area throughout the year; we have some of the local councils
Community Development Workers presenting, with a focus on Green Living and sustainability. You may also
receive a free worm farm or compost bin. Morning tea will also be provided free of charge.
*Transport: A coach will be booked for the day trips with a couple of central pick up points - these will be
advised when the final numbers of those attending are confirmed. Tenants can also apply for the cost of child
minding fees and reimbursement for public transport costs to and from the Tenant Forum Venues. *Please
advise staff of this at the time of your booking.
The trips are free to all eligible PLH tenants and are very popular, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Somersby Recycling Plant
Interested in finding out more about recycling and waste ? Join us at the REMONDIS facility in Somersby for a 1
hour program presented by their Education Officer. Then onto the Waterfall Café at Mt Penang for morning tea.

K i d s S c h o o l h o l i d a y f u n a t Oakvale Farm & Fauna World—Salt Ash
25 Acres of Australian native animals. Enjoy a tractor-trailer ride, animal feeding show and Koala
encounter. A yummy lunch will also be provide (chicken nuggets, fish cocktails, drinks and ice block)
and much more. Don’t forget water, hat and sunscreen!

Newcastle Famous Tram Tour
Includes a 1 hour tour of the city, beaches and historical sites with full commentary.
Lunch at Honeysuckle Wharf afterwards. Limited to 28 seats per tour!

The Balnaves Foundation has an Open House Program that allows PLH to purchase $5 tickets for certain performances/shows. These dates will be advised at the time the performances are published . Proof of Identity may
also be requested to verify tenant names and pension details etc.

Annual Xmas Party Australian Reptile Park—Somersby
Join PLH staff at the Reptile Park for a BBQ lunch, wildlife shows, and Keeper Workshop –
up close and hands on with the animals. Santa will also be visiting with gifts for all children.
