To Our Valued Travel Agents, Friends and
Customers...
Since 1972 we have been providing our customers with
excellent travel experiences to Ireland and the United
Kingdom. I would like to personally thank all that have
booked with Celtic Tours World Vacations for almost 44
years!
Ireland
We pride ourselves, not only on bringing you excellent
tours to Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales with new and
exciting itineraries, but also on the unsurpassed service and
support we provide our customers.
You will always find a friendly human voice on the other end
of the line when you call Celtic Tours World Vacations. We
don’t welcome you with automation, but personally answer
every call that comes into our office during business hours,
making sure you do not have to navigate through a phone
queue and you are taken care of straight away.
Most customers repeat with Celtic due to the high standard
of service we offer and for the variety of destinations that we
service, including Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy,
Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland and more.
You can take advantage of early bird promotional discounts
and save more when you travel to multiple destinations. Visit
our website and contact your travel agent to sign up for sales
and touring information.
What other travelers are saying!
• “I want to THANK you so very much for organizing the trip of a lifetime. My entire family is now in love with Ireland. All of your tour stops you suggested were great!”
P.C., Arizona
•
Save more on family vacations and travel as a group by
private motorcoach or join one of our popular tours from our
brochure.
Your first stop should be your Professional Travel Agent for
the best service and advice when it comes to your travel
planning. We will work with your travel professional to bring
you your dream vacation! Celtic Tours would be happy to
give you a list of qualified travel agents in your area.
Your dream of international travel will be brought to reality
by selecting a travel professional who will be able to offer
first hand knowledge regarding the destination you will be
visiting. They know the travel landscape and will be able to
support you should you have concerns or difficulties. They
are a phone call away, in comparison to some online booking
services, which will not answer your questions or assist you
once the sale is made.
The nation’s most reliable tour operators belong to the
United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA). All
members are required to post a minimum $1 million dollar
bond, which is supervised outside of the tour operator’s
control.
Celtic Tours also offers you peace of mind with a 24/7
emergency contact for your clients, so a Celtic Tours
representative is always a phone call away.

Scottish
Castle Experience
6 Day / 5 Night Small Group Escorted Tour
Explore Scotland’s ancient past from prehistoric to medieval. Royal residences
will be highly featured on this tour as well as the stories of epic battles, mystical
legends and bravery. A truly unique experience, taking in the breathtaking
beauty and charm of Scotland’s Castles. All departures are guaranteed with a
small group experience, having no more than 16 passengers. This is truly the
way to experience Scotland and its Castles.
Your Itinerary
Thursday, Day 01: Arrive in Edinburgh.
Transfer to your hotel is included. You
are free to enjoy this beautiful city on
your own. (Please note, hotel check-in is
generally between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.)
Spend your day independently exploring
Edinburgh. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Sunday, Day 04: Our tour heads further
north today and starts the day with a visit
to Fyvie Castle near Turriff, which will
open its doors especially for our party at
9:30 am. Fyvie Castle dates back to the
13th century and has a fine collection of
arms and armor as well as 17th century
tapestries and opulent Edwardian interiors.
We then continue, traveling through
beautiful scenery and on to Nairn, where
there is time for lunch (independently)
at nearby Brodie Castle. Then we have
time to explore the castle further. Dating
from the 16th century, this imposing castle
stands in rich Morayshire parkland. It
has unusual plasterwork and a major art
collection and tells the fascinating story of
the Brodie family. In the afternoon we are
able to take the Clan Walk at the Culloden
Visitor Centre. The Clan Stone Walkway
is designed to commemorate the Scottish
Clans and their clansmen who fought at the
battle of Culloden with a special Insignia
Stone. The Clans are represented with their
individual Crest and personal inscription.
We continue to Knockomie House Hotel.
Dinner for our group will be held tonight in
one of the private rooms.
Monday, Day 05: Today we travel south
again through some of the most stunning
scenery Scotland has to offer. We will
travel to Kingussie for a photo stop at
the Ruthven Barracks. We continue to
Dalwhinnie Distillery, the highest Distillery

the Forth Road Bridge into the ancient
Kingdom of Fife. Our first visit of the day
will be Falkland Palace, where during a

Built between 1502 and 1541, it is set in

hunting lodge of eight Stuart monarchs.
Highlight of the visit will be to see the Real
Tennis court, built in 1539! Continue to

recent history. Its connection to the patron
Saint of Scotland, birthplace of golf, ancient
University town and matchmaker to a Royal

Dun near Montrose. This beautiful Georgian
house, overlooking Montrose Basin, was
built in 1730. It now houses the Hutchison
collection of Scottish colorists and the
Stirling collection of furniture, ranging from
the 18th century to the 1960s. On route
to Aberdeen we will make a photo stop at

Day 02: Edinburgh – Touring begins –
Stornoway. Leaving Edinburgh at 8:30 am, we
travel north from Edinburgh into the Highlands,
stopping in the historic village of Dunkeld before
travelling through the Grampian Mountains. After
lunch [on your own] in the Cairngorm National
Park the tour continues passing Inverness,
Capital of the Highlands to the impressive
waterfalls of Corrieshalloch Gorge. Here we
will make a stop before arriving in Ullapool for
the late afternoon ferry and the start of your
Hebridean Island Hopping Adventure! The ferry
passes the Summer Isles before crossing the
Minch to arrive in Stornoway, Capital of the Outer
Hebrides where you will spend the next 2 nights.
Day 03: Touring - Lewis. Our first full day in
the Outer Hebrides will be spent exploring the
highlights of Lewis starting with the world famous
Callanish stone circles. Nearby is Dun Carloway,
a fascinating Iron Age broch (stone tower). We
continue and travel through traditional crofting
communities and get a chance to visit traditional
croft houses at Gearrannan Black House village.
From here you will make the final stage of
the journey from “Barra to Butt” arriving at
the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis, the most
northerly point of this amazing journey. After a
cliff top walk here we will return to Stornoway for
the night again.
Day 04: Touring - Harris. We spend an
enjoyable day exploring Harris, still part of
the same island as Lewis but scenically very
different. As we drive through central Harris we
will pass Clisham the highest mountain in the
Outer Hebrides where if we are very lucky we
might see a golden eagle. Close to here are the
incredible white sand beaches at Luskentyre
which we will, of course have time to explore.
After lunch [on your own] we will visit the
historic church at Rodel and then it’s time for
another island! Crossing the Sound of Harris in
early evening we will arrive on North Uist and
Lochmaddy, our base for the next 2 nights.
Day 05: Touring - Island Discovery. Today
is a flexible day discovering the islands of North
and South Uist and Benbecula. From the long
sandy beaches and machair of the west coast
to the wild and
remote hills
of the east and the thousands of freshwater
lochs dotting the landscape this is a dramatic
and unspoiled place. There are a number of
prehistoric standing stones and burial mounds
on the islands as well as local folk museums
and art galleries. There will be the opportunity
to taste the local peat smoked salmon, highly
recommended for its unique flavor. Our guide will
decide on the best combination of things to see
and do today depending on the weather and the
interests of the group.
Day 06: Touring - Southern Island
Discovery. Today will be spent exploring the
southern end of the island chain, first South Uist,
then Eriskay (famous as the place where the ship
SS Politician ran aground with a cargo of whisky.
The story was immortalized in the book and film
“Whisky Galore” and it is rumored that there
are still some bottles of whisky hidden on the
island!). After yet another ferry we finally reach
the friendly little island of Barra, the “full stop”
at the end of the Outer Hebrides, with its strong
Gaelic culture, impressive Kisimul Castle, crofting
landscapes and beautiful scenery. We may be
lucky to see a plane land on the beach at the
only commercial tidal airport in the world! The
last night of the tour will be spent in Castlebay
on Barra.
Day 07: Touring - Edinburgh. This morning
we say goodbye to the Hebrides as we sail past
Kisimul Castle on the ferry back to the mainland
and the harbour town of Oban. The journey
across the Minch and then through the sound
of Mull is a beautiful cruise. During the 5 hour
crossing look out for dolphins and whales as well
as countless seabirds. From Oban the route takes
us past the impressive ruins of Kilchurn Castle,
sitting proudly at the head of Loch Awe before
traveling through the West Highlands to arrive
back in Edinburgh about 7:30 pm, after six days
of some of the most wonderful scenery and travel
experiences in the world. Make your own way
back to your pre-booked hotel.
Day 08: Edinburgh – Home. After breakfast,
transfer from your hotel to the Airport for your
return flight to the US.

columns with its waterfall cascading over the
cliffs and down into the sea below. After lunch

where we enjoy a free evening in the village.
Day 06: Touring – Edinburgh. We travel

mountain, Ben Nevis, then onto Fort William
for lunch. In the afternoon we will explore
spectacular Glencoe, scene of the infamous

stop in Killin for refreshments beside the Falls
of Dochart. We arrive back in Edinburgh around
7:00 pm. Our tour ends at Waverly Bridge in
