The days since my Ordination last Sunday have been truly remarkable, and I
thank God for this gift not only to me personally, but for our parish and the
Church. The many visitors and the 72 priests who celebrated with us commented
that the incredible sense of welcome, prayerfulness and hospitality which they
received here was tremendous, and to that I wish to add my own heartfelt thanks.
To those who so generously gave of their time and energy to prepare for the
liturgy, the church and the celebrations which followed I am especially thankful.
There has been a beautiful sense of unity and rejoicing in our parish, and I hope
and pray, not only that many more vocations and ordinations will come from this
parish, but that the good work that we have all achieved together will continue
into a long and blessed future. Fr Andrew Black

Conor McCarthy will be ordained in June. James O’Reilly will be ordained deacon later this month. The other students are
Manuelito, Tony, James, Michael, Kevin, Christopher and Stiofan. Please keep them in your prayers.
The second collection on the feast of the Ascension is the yearly collection for the education of our student priests. Thank
you for your support of this collection last year. Your continued support of this annual church collection on Sunday 17 th
May is again requested. Your financial contribution is another concrete way of supporting our students as they journey
towards priesthood for service in our parishes.

CALLED & GIFTED which will be offered in Dromantine Conference Centre on the 29th – 30th May 2015. It will be
presented collaboratively, by diocesan teams from Down & Connor, Armagh, Dromore and the Society of African
Missions, in partnership with the St Catherine of Siena Institute, Colorado who are the creators of the original
programme. It is a fascinating introduction to the charisms that God gives to each one in their Baptism and the
accompanying vocation that ensues. We have been doing preparatory training on this for the last two years and this is the
first time that it will be offered in Ireland as an open weekend.
