FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Andrea Maurey Pav YMCA 708.749.0606 ext. 342 news@pavymca.org Pav YMCA Names 2015 Teeter Award Recipient Annual Tweeter Award Celebration and Dinner Dance to be held May 8th Berwyn, 4/21/15 – On Friday, May 8, 2015, the Pav YMCA will be hosting their Annual Teeter Award Celebration and Dinner Dance at Crystal Sky Banquets (7941 W. 47th Street) in McCook, IL. Since 1977, the Pav YMCA annually honors the memory of Berwyn resident Robert W. Teeter by recognizing one outstanding community leader as the recipient of the Robert W. Teeter Award. The Y further celebrates community by presenting awards for Family and Volunteer of the Year. The Pav YMCA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2015 Robert W. Teeter Award will be Richard “Jousef” Mondragon, Berwyn Development Corporation Executive Vice President. Mondragon was nominated by Ana Espinoza and Nora Laureto. In her nomination letter, Espinoza said the following, “If you are involved in any community activity in Berwyn you know Jousef. He is a caring individual who volunteers his time and efforts to his new small town.” In the community, Mondragon serves on the Board of Directors of the Berwyn Public Library and Youth Crossroads. Also being recognized at the event: Volunteer of the Year: Julissa Rodriguez At the young age of 16 years old, Julissa Rodriguez is the true epitome of an inspirational youth who continues to give back to her community. Family of the Year: Aaron & Jennifer Mitchell Aaron, Jennifer, Harvey, Juniper, and Hudson are an example of how a family can improve the community they live in and have fun doing it. Dean S. Johnson President’s Award: Joseph M. Kroc In addition to his many accomplishments, Joe is always able to be counted on for good and honest advice; especially in regards to YMCA financial decisions. This signature event is also the Pav YMCA’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event benefit the Y’s Annual Support Campaign, which provides financial assistance to the kids and families that need the Y the most. Every year the Y awards nearly $58,000 in scholarships and fee assistance to over 590 people who are otherwise unable to participate in preschool, afterschool child care, summer camp or YMCA membership due to financial circumstances. Tickets for the Annual Teeter Award Celebration and Dinner Dance are $55 a piece or $550 for a table of ten and can be purchased at the Pav YMCA (2947 S.
