In 2010, Paula shocked the world becoming the first Canadian triathlete to win a World Championship Series event -- on the now-famous Hyde Park 2012 Olympic course in London, England. She matched that performance and was the only woman athlete to win backto-back in 2010 in Kitzbuhel, Austria. The Edmontonian carried her success into the 2011 season where she won three World Championship Series races. Paula was ranked No. 1 in the world by the time she was 21. From late June 2011 through to the Olympics in London and most of 2013, a nagging hip injury limited Findlay to just five events. A healthy Findlay is back to elite racing with some impressive results late in the 2014 season. 25-year-old Findlay currently lives and trains in Boulder, Colorado under the expert guidance of her new coach and former World Champion Siri Lindley. Kyle Jones Kyle has been a member of Canada’s National Triathlon Team since 2006. He won the Canadian Junior title in 2003 which sparked a move to Victoria, BC to train at the National Training Centre. He made his ITU World Cup debut in 2005. Kyle has narrowly missed the podium at two Pan American Games with 4th place finishes in 2007 (Rio de Janeiro) and 2011 (Guadalajara). In 2008 Kyle was selected as the alternate for the Canadian Olympic Team. In 2012 he won his first Canadian Senior title, his first ITU World Cup title, and represented Canada at the Olympic Games in London. Since then, he has added two more National titles, a World Cup silver medal, and most recently represented Canada at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Kyle continues to compete for Canada in the ITU World Triathlon Series with aspirations of competing in his second Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016 Vanessa Riopel Vanessa Riopel has been a member of the Women’s National Team since 2007. She helped Canada win a bronze medal at the Women’s 2012 World Cup in Edmonton. Vanessa is from Repentigny, QC and began learning English when she joined the national team. She has a degree from the University of Québec Trois-Riviéres in Kinesiology.
