WORKING BEES On Sunday May 3, and Sunday May 10, the Club is holding two working Bees to bring the Marina back to the shape it should be (Sunday, May 3 and Sunday, May 10). But we need your assistance. Working Bees will commence at 9am through to 12pm with a free sausage sizzle and drinks for the volunteers at 12pm. If everyone volunteers a few hours each we can have this Marina back in tip top shape in no time. Please volunteer some of your valuable time for this great cause. All enquires to Rear Commodore Pens and Moorings – Mr Hugh Bamford; and Rear Commodore Power – Mr Givenchy Langer NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS - BE WATER WISE! We would like to take this opportunity to remind all members to be water wise after we had a recent incident of a running hose retrieved out of the water from one of the jetties. Please ensure you double check all club equipment used. SLIPPING RATES – SPECIAL OFFER The Club is pleased to offer a special slipping rate for the Winter Season. Now is a great time to take advantage of this special price to Slip your vessel and conduct your annual maintenance. Slipping Fees as at 22/04/2015 PFSYC Members Lift & Launch. Includes 1st day all Cradles - $180 Daily Rate st after 1 day Pressure Clean Enviro Levy Total 40 50 20 250 THE CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP We need video evidence of large vessels such as Sunseekers, Ferries etc. that are driving too fast and too close to our Club creating large wakes which result in damage to our jetties and vessels moored in our Marina. This is a safety issue as the wake created from these vessels may cause someone on a moored vessel in our club to fall overboard, or mooring lines to break causing the vessel to crash into other vessels and jetties. In order to ascertain a suitable solution, such as perhaps a speed limit on vessels over a certain size, or an exclusion zone close to the club, we need video evidence of the extreme wakes and potential damage that these vessels cause. If you are on your vessel and you witness these vessels speeding and creating large wakes close to our club, please video them on your smart phones and send them to the General Manager. We will not be approaching any government bodies until we have had feedback from our members and we have explored a number of possible solutions. FORMATION OF SUB-COMMITTEES To take the Club forward into the future, the Committee is seeking to establish a number of Sub-Committees comprised of Members. Pens and Mooring Sub-Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore Pens and Mooring. This committee will assist with the maintenance and rectification of the Marina, as well as having a hand in the development of new opportunities such as B Jetty and Protecting C, D, E, and F Jetties. Contact Rear Commodore Pens and Moorings – Mr Hugh Bamford. Sailing and Regatta Sub-Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore Regatta. This committee will look after all sailing and regatta activities, as well as liaising with other clubs and creating more events. Approach all sail members and engage them to become more involved and active. Contact Rear Commodore Regatta – Mr Bob Freeth. Power and Social Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore Power. This committee will assist in engaging the members and rebuilding the camaraderie that once existed. Social events and functions should be a regular occurrence, along with regular working bees. Contact Rear Commodore Power – Mr Givenchy Langer. Please support your Club where it needs it most, your participation is essential for the future of the Club. SPECIAL THANKS We would like to say a special thank you to the following members for paying their annual dues on time. We greatly appreciate the efficiency. If you have not yet paid, please contact the office to make arrangement.
