PENTICTON INDIAN BAND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: PIB NATURAL RESOURCE DEPARTMENT ON-CALL TECHNICAN The Penticton Indian Band (PIB) Lands (Natural Resource) Department is seeking qualified technicians to join our team. Our technicians are employed year round on an on-call basis. PIB offers a varied work experience designed to build your knowledge in a variety of disciplines. As a PIB Technician you will undertake duties associated with Syilx Cultural Heritage, Wildlife, Fisheries, Environmental Monitoring, Archaeology and more. You will work throughout Syilx Territory including the: Arrow Lakes, Okanagan Basin, Kettle and Similkameen watersheds. Our work is fast-paced and dynamic; we are seeking motivated individuals who are dedicated to getting out on the land and being a part of our important PIB projects. All Penticton Indian Band employees are encouraged to learn about the culture, language, and traditions of the Okanagan people and must be willing to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge to further their formal education. Term: On-call as required up to 40+ hrs/week (No guarantee of hours). Flexible work hours (e.g. some evenings and weekends). Wildlife or Fisheries Certification and/or Syilx TEK knowledge is an asset. Experience in handling small boats and ATV’s is an asset. Training may be provided to qualified individuals. Compensation will commensurate with experience.
