Pork Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of Pork Nova Scotia will be held on Friday March 20, 2015 starting at 12:00 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture Boardroom in Truro.
HUMANE HANDLING TRAINING for SWINE
All truckers and hog producers are advised that a Humane Handling for Swine Training course will be held in
March 2015. Each session will last approximately 4 hours and will provide a 3-year certification. Truckers and
handlers who previously received training in April 2012 should note that this certification expires this year. The

Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Safe Agricultural Practices - March 18, 2015
9am – 4pm at the Best Western Glengarry, Truro, NS
Farm Safety Nova Scotia and the Canadian Farmers with Disabilities Registry are teaming up to offer this oneday workshop for farmers and industry stakeholders.
This training is geared toward anyone involved in the agricultural industry that is required to
communicate safe farm practices to youth, agricultural workers, volunteers, and the general public.
The workshop will provide training on best practices to communicate the message of agricultural
safety and provide an overview of the basics of safety.
This training is being delivered by the Canadian Farmers with Disability Registry with the support of the FCC
Ag Safety Fund administered by the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association with funding from Farm Credit
Canada.
Sage 50 Accounting in Kentville
This 40 hour Workplace Education program will provide you with knowledge to help you to set up and maintain
your business finances on Sage 50 (formerly Simply Accounting). You will build the skills necessary to create
your company in Sage 50. You will learn the day to day maintenance of your computerized bookkeeping as
well as ways to be more efficient. By the end of the program you will be able to use Sage 50 with more
confidence and make better business decisions.
This course will run from April 16 - June 25, Thursday evenings
from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Kingstec Campus, Kentville.
