RENFREW COUNTY CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD Requires a TEMPORARY ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT – OnSIS LOCATION: Administration Office, Pembroke Immediately – January 18, 2016 REQUIRED: *or the return of the Permanent Accounting Assistant STATUS: 1.0 FTE – Full-time Temporary (12-mth) SALARY RANGE: $18.63 HOURS: 7.0 hrs/day – 35 hrs/week UNION COPE, Local 103 AFFILIATION: JOB SUMMARY: In coordination with the Superintendent of Business Services, the Finance Officer and working closely with staff throughout the Board, the Accounting Assistant – OnSIS is responsible for coordination/collection of student information for Ministry reporting and for coding and verifying employee expenses. RESPOSNSIBILITIES: Liaises between the Superintendent’s Office, Schools and the Ministry of Education with respect to the coordination and collection of information for the Ministry, OnSIS reporting including enrolment reports, school reports, class size reports, teaching staff reports, teaching assignment reports, Board reports, etc.; Assigns general ledger accounts to occasional teacher reports and prepares journal entries; Codes employee expense claims and certifies for accuracy and completeness; Prepares supplementary financial reports and applications; Acts as primary back-up for accounts payable; Other responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 1) A two-year Community College Diploma in Business Administration, with an accounting concentration or equivalent education and training; 2) A minimum of two years recent working experience in a computerized accounting environment; 3) Proficient knowledge of accounting, purchasing and budgeting procedures and practices; 4) Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, preferably MS Excel, MS Word, Internet, Charts, Graphs and PowerPoint; 5) Excellent mathematical, analytical, problem-solving and research skills; 6) Excellent written and oral communication skills; 7) A team player with a composed, discreet and professional manner; excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to perform multi-tasks under pressure and meet deadlines with a minimum amount of direction; 8) Experience working with a computerized student data information system such as ONSIS and/or Maplewood would be an asset; 9) Ability to provide regular attendance; 10) A commitment to continuing education.
