Dear Mr Burman,
Application No: 14/11556/FUL: Storage & Distribution Centre (B8) & Associated
Development. Retail Unit (A1) Access & Associated Development
At Land North of A350, West Cepen Way, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 6YG
Further to our letter of objection to this application, dated 6 May 2015 and sent to you on that
date, we have now had sight of the full evaluation report on the archaeology of the proposed
development site.
We wish to let you know that we have no reason to alter our response to the application as set
out in our letter of 6 May. Not only is the archaeology of the site of national importance, it
should also be borne in mind that this conclusion has been reached on the outcome of an
evaluation exercise that has revealed only a fraction of the site overall, leading to the obvious
assumption that the potential of the whole site is therefore correspondingly high.
Yours sincerely,
Reuben Thorpe, Chairman
Rescue, The British Archaeological Trust
