TODAY’S SPEAKER
Ben Zickafoose, CEO
Carpenter Place
Ben Zickafoose is the CEO of Carpenter Place, a children’s home in
Wichita that serves deeply hurting girls with the hope of restoring their
relationships with God, family, and community. Ben has been serving at
Carpenter Place since December 2013 and loves being able to see lives
transformed each day. Prior to coming to Wichita, Ben and his family
served at Mid-Western Children’s Home in Cincinnati, Ohio as house
parents for 7 years and at Albuquerque Christian Children’s Home for 2
years. During their time as house parents, Ben’s family provided a home
to over 40 children. Ben also served as the Principal/Director of
Education for 5 years at Village Christian School, which is a therapeutic
program on the campus of Mid-Western Children’s Home that serves atrisk youth.
Ben and his wife, Kendra, have four children, Emma, Kate, Jack, and
Luke, all have quickly loved calling Wichita- “home”. Ben obtained his
Master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching and Bachelor’s
degree in Sports Management from Ohio University.

OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is “to encourage and foster the ideal of service as
a basis of worthy enterprise.” The statement then lists four areas by
which this “ideal of service” is fostered: through the development of
acquaintance as the opportunity for service; the promotion of high
ethical standards in business and professions; through service in one’s
personal, business, and community life; and the advancement of
international understanding, goodwill and peace.
