NOTICES
Sunday 7 June
This Sunday is Choristers’ Parents Sunday, on which we especially welcome
the parents of our choristers. The service will be followed by a Hog Roast
lunch in the chapel garden. The number of places is limited to 120 – so if
you would like to attend, please notify the Steward.
Saturday 13 June
Congratulations to Stuart and Amie who are to be married at the chapel
this day. Stuart is an ‘Old Olavian’ and was a chorister at the chapel for five
years.
Sunday 14 June
The 11am service this Sunday will follow a special form to celebrate the
800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta. The preacher will be the
Dean of Canterbury Cathedral. The service will be held in the presence of
Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Please let the
Steward know if you plan to attend the service that Sunday morning. The
service will be followed by a drinks reception.
Sunday 28 June
On this Sunday the Chapel celebrates its patronal festival by keeping the
feast of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist. The chapel is all that remains of
a hospital founded by the will of King Henry VII. The hospital was
dedicated in the name of Saint John the Baptist, the great forerunner of
Christ. His message was delivered in the powerful oratory of an Old
Testament prophet, and he acts as a bridge between the Old and New
Testaments. We welcome The Very Revd Dr John Moses, KCVO, former
Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, as the visiting preacher that Sunday morning.
The service will be followed by a drinks reception.
