It is hard to believe that we are just one week away from the 115th U.S.
Open Championship at Chambers Bay! We can’t begin to thank you
enough for your commitment to volunteering at this championship. The
support and enthusiasm we have received from volunteers and the
community as a whole have been astounding. Your efforts are truly
appreciated and we simply could not conduct a championship of this
magnitude without the support of our 5,000-plus volunteers.
We encourage you to read through this newsletter, as it contains
important information about merchandise, the Mobile Device Policy and
Camera Policy, complimentary Wi-Fi, credential packets and more!
If you have still not received your volunteer schedule, credential packet
or apparel, contact the Championship Office at (253) 883-3433 or
2015USOpen@USGA.org.
Again, thank you for all of your support over the last year and we look
forward to hosting you at Chambers Bay!
Credential Packet Pickup
Training sessions are ongoing and we appreciate those volunteers who have already attended their sessions. We
encourage all volunteers to attend training, as it covers pertinent championship and committee-specific
information. You will also have the chance to receive your volunteer credential packet. If you are unable to
attend your training session, please arrive at least 30 minutes early to your first volunteer shift to receive on-thefly training and instructions.
Additional training videos are provided on the Volunteer Website at https://2015volunteers.usga.org, including
a general 2015 U.S. Open overview as well as committee-specific videos. Please note, not all committees will
have a committee-specific training presentation posted on the Volunteer Website.
If you were unable to attend your training session and have yet to receive your credential packet, you can pick it
up at the Championship Office until June 10. Starting June 11, all credential packets will be held at Will Call 1,
located next to the Main Admission Gate. If you would like to pick up your credential packet in person between
June 11-14, please follow instructions to attend the pre-championship merchandise opening, which can be
found on usopen.com. Will Call 1 will be open during the pre-championship opening, where you can redeem
your volunteer credential packet. More information can be found on page 3 of this newsletter.

Pre-Championship Merchandise Opening
Camera Policy
The Main Merchandise Pavilion will be open to the public starting on June 11.
From June 11 through June 21, volunteers will have the chance to exchange
their apparel, based on inventory. Apparel is limited and exchanges are available
on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage our volunteers to take
advantage of the pre-championship merchandise opening to make any necessary
volunteer apparel exchanges.
Stand-alone cameras may only be
brought and mobile device camera
features may only be used during
practice rounds (Monday through
Wednesday) and only for personal
photographic use. No photography
is permitted in the presence of a
player from the time he addresses
the ball until the completion of his
swing (i.e., when a marshal’s arms
are raised).
In addition to exchanges, volunteers will have the opportunity to purchase two
(2) additional shirts, one (1) jacket, and one (1) piece of headwear at special
prices: Golf Shirt - $40, Jacket - $65, Headwear - $13, Water Bottle - $5, Lapel
Pin - $5. Volunteers can only purchase items that are the same color and size as
the items they originally purchased. For example, a Marshal Committee
volunteer can only purchase a Marshal volunteer shirt. You must present your
volunteer credential or photo identification when purchasing the additional
items.
The Main Merchandise Pavilion is open during the following dates and times:
Thursday, June 11 - Sunday, June 14: 10 a.m PDT. to 6 p.m. PDT
Monday, June 15 - Sunday, June 21: 7 a.m. PDT to 8 p.m. PDT
A ticket is not required to access the Main Merchandise Pavilion between June
11 and June 14 so feel free to spread the word to any family or friends who may
be interested. Parking is complimentary and is located in close proximity to
Chambers Bay.
Volunteer Hospitality
On days you are scheduled to volunteer, we
encourage you to visit the Volunteer Hospitality
tent. Volunteers will have the opportunity to
enjoy light breakfast and afternoon snacks as
well as complimentary beverage service. This
climate-controlled hospitality tent will also boast
several large flat screen TV’s so you will be able
to take in some of the broadcast coverage while
taking a break from the heat! For volunteers
looking to charge their cellphones, Volunteer
Hospitality will also have cellphone charging
stations. For any volunteers who are particularly
stressed, we are pleased to offer 5-10 minute
massages by certified massage therapists
courtesy of our Wellness Team!
Please stop by the Volunteer Hospitality tent,
where you will also have a chance to enter to
win daily volunteer raffles!
Video and audio recording is
prohibited at all times during
championship week.
Volunteers are not allowed to ask for
pictures at any time while
volunteering.
Violation of any of the above
policies will result in immediate
expulsion and loss of ticket
privileges for the remainder of the
championship.
