Dear Colleague,
Dr. K. P. Vijayakumar , Associate Professor and Head, DLIS is retiring from the service
of University of Kerala on 31st March 2015. As an alumnus of the Department, you
need no introduction to Dr. Vijayakumar. He has a renowned career spanning over
three and half decades, two third of which is in the Department in various capacities.
He is also serving as the Hon. Director of the Centre for Information Literacy Studies.
During his career Dr. Vijayakumar earned the reputation as a teacher par excellence
and an efficient administrator. He is one of the most sought after resource persons of
the academic staff Colleges not only in LIS but in almost all disciplines. It is our moral
responsibility to felicitate him and give a farewell in the most befitting manner. A
preliminary meeting of his colleagues, friends and office bearers of the Alumni
Association held on 27 February, 2015 decided to organize a full day programme
combining the Alumni Meet 2015 (AADLIS-2015) and the Farewell function on 30th
March 2015. The Alumni meet in the forenoon and the farewell function in the
afternoon. The programme will be held at the Senate Chamber of the University of

Annual General body meeting of the AADLIS, cultural programmes of Alumni and public
meeting to felicitate Dr. K P Vijayakumar.
