Combat two daily challenges in one inclusive course. 10 The international certificate in leadership for real estate development “Organisations do not succeed purely on the technical knowledge of their people. Effective leadership and clear strategic ambitions are essential. Professionals need to put as much energy into equipping themselves with leadership and management tools, as keeping their technical skills up to date.” Michael Newey Group Chief Executive, Broadland Housing Group, Immediate Past President, RICS © RICS training and development 2015 11 “The development of the new Moorfields Eye Hospital is literally a once in a life time project and because of this, it was imperative to think in terms of whole life assets and to plan across the whole timeline. This involved developing a 60 year financial model to demonstrate affordability, predicated upon activity and throughput, space requirements, cashflows, operational risk rating and programme. Experience shows us that over a 30 year time horizon, a Design-Build-Operate spend is 10% capital and 90% operational spend. It is therefore essential that a holistic approach is taken to planning and executing this project and the key to successful delivery is learning lessons from others. The RICS International Certificate in Leadership for Real Estate Development is the first course to advocate a holistic approach to real estate development and will help stakeholders to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to make such projects a success.” Tim Fry Project Director at Moorfields Eye Hospital 12 The international certificate in leadership for real estate development Course contributors This course has been developed in conjunction with the following experts who bring a wealth of industry experience and best practice knowledge to the course. • Alan Blower, Senior Consultant, Cegos • Angus McIntosh, Consultant at Real Estate Forecasting Ltd., NAI Global & REMIT consulting, Visiting Professor Oxford Brookes University • Ann Potterton, Senior Associate Consultant, Cegos • Eduardo Bo, Senior Consultant, São Paulo, Brazil • Johnny Dunford, Director of Corporate Real Estate at BNP Paribas Real Estate. • Joe Valente, Managing Director, JP Morgan Asset Management • Kath Fontana, Managing Director, BAM FM, at BAM Construct UK Board member of RICS Professional Group for FM • Pallav Kumar Agrawal, Associate Director, Black Olive Realty Ventures LLP • Richard Masters, Senior Associate Consultant, Cegos • Richard Clarke, Senior Associate Consultant, Cegos • Sarah Smith, Senior Associate Consultant, Cegos • Sunil Agarwal, Managing Director, Black Olive Realty Ventures LLP • Tim Fry, Project Director at Moorfields Eye Hospital in partnership with UCL Chair of the RICS Professional Group Board for Project Management © RICS training and development 2015 13 Application process To foster a dynamic learning environment for all delegates, we encourage applications from a range of industries, countries and backgrounds.
