:Letter from Bishop David Zubik
A very important letter from Bishop David A. Zubik is
inserted in today’s bulletin. As I mentioned during
Masses last weekend, this introduces us to a dynamic
planning initiative called On Mission for The Church
Alive! Please be sure to read this letter and start thinking
and praying about how our parish family can become an
even more vibrant community of worship and service.
Let’s learn Jesus, love Jesus and live Jesus!
Fr. Kevin
Where’s Your Census Form?
If you haven’t sent us your Census Form yet, look in any
pew for a yellow form and please fill it out today. This is
the last day these forms will be available in the pews.
You may place your completed form in a “Census” box
located near the altar OR drop it off in the rectory
between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
OR mail it to the address listed at the bottom of the form.
EVERYONE needs to fill out a form. Even if you’ve
been a parishioner for decades, you still need to fill out
the form so we know we have the most up-to-date
information on your family.
We are raffling off a bottle of Dom Perignon as well as
auctioning off a number of items including:
*Dinner with baseball great Bill Mazeroski during which
he signs a very special bottle of wine.
*Golf with Father Kevin.
*Signed hockey stick by the 2013-14 Penguins team.
*Autographed Neil Walker jersey.
*Homemade items from each of our school’s homerooms.
*Steelers and Pirates tickets.
*High end wines, designer jewelry and more.
To buy gala tickets, donate auction items or for general
information, please contact Gala Chair Tara Aiello at
gala@saintalphonsuswexford.org or 412-334-7237.
First Communion Set for May 2-3
First Holy Communion ceremonies at St. Alphonsus will
be held on Saturday, May 2, at the 5 p.m. Vigil Mass,
and on Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m.
Ceremony practice sessions, which are mandatory, are
scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 10:30 a.m. to
noon for the Saturday communicants, and from 12:30
p.m. to 2 p.m. for the Sunday communicants.
Save the Date for our Flea Market June 12-13
When we do NOT receive a form, we don’t know if a
family who is currently listed has moved, changed
parishes, or is still an active parishioner.
We’ll provide more details as we get closer to the date.
Only 20 percent have responded so far. That means our
volunteers might have to follow up by calling 80 percent
of the 1,600 families currently on our rolls.
Orders are being taken now for shirts that proclaim National Pro-Life T-shirt Day on May 4.
Please help us out by taking a few minutes to fill in the
form manually or it can be downloaded from our
website .
Thank you very much!
School Open House Today!
Have you taken a good look at St. Alphonsus School
lately? If not, please consider taking a tour today during
our open house from 1 to 3 p.m.
It doesn't matter if you have school-age children — come
take a look at all the wonderful things our parish school is
doing! Bring your friends and families. See what a great
faith-based education we offer by touring our classrooms
and talking to students; teachers; parents; our principal,
Mr. Reese; and our pastor, Father Kevin.
Excitement Builds for the St. Alphonsus Gala!
A handful of tickets are left for our April 25 gala that
includes dinner, a silent auction and live auction at The
Ballroom at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.
Pro Life T-Shirts for Sale
The blue T-shirts are available for $5 each in sizes
ranging from a child’s small to an adult XL. An XXL
costs $7.
Order forms are available in the rectory and
school. Please get your orders in no later than April 20
so we can ensure the shirts will be delivered by Friday,
May 1.

St. Al’s Grads Ask for Support for Charity
St. Al’s graduates Katie, Maggie, and Mary Stack
(Classes of 2006, 2007 and 2009) are seeking the support and help of our community. The three sisters, who
are running in the 2015 Boston Marathon on April 20,
are raising money for the Heather Abbott Foundation,
which helps to provide customized prostheses to those
who have suffered limb loss through traumatic injury,
mainly to women and young girls.
Please see their letter on our website and in E-News,
for details on how to contribute.
