know that we’re currently recruiting for a full-time Utility Operator II to support the operation of
all water, wastewater and storm water areas within the City.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all functions within our water,
wastewater and stormwater areas and also for the periodic supervision of the area including
performance management, risk management, asset management, compliance with legislated
requirements and continued development of safe work procedures. This position is also
responsible for inventory maintenance including but not limited to: Purchasing/ordering parts,
maintaining a City MasterCard, Inventory reconciliation.
The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma, a diploma or certificate related to
this field from an accredited institution would be an asset, with a minimum 3 – 5 years relevant
experience. Alberta Environment level 2 certification in water distribution and wastewater
collection, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Geomatic Information Systems,
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems are also required. The successful incumbent
requires a working knowledge of WHMIS, OH&S standards and first aid.
