"I've enjoyed every
age I've been, and
each has had its own
individual merit.
Every laugh line,
every scar, is a
badge I wear to
show I've been
present, the inner
rings of my personal
tree trunk that I
display proudly for
all to see. Nowadays,
I don't want a
'perfect' face and
body; I want to wear
the life I've lived."

@ a private residence*
in Santa Barbara
This NEW GROUP is open to
our current members

Please note that this is a writing group, not a story-telling group. The
emphasis is on participants who write and come prepared to read their
writing to the group. The group's meetings are moderated by an SB Village
member and participants come with a completed writing piece to share.
This month's writing assignment theme: EARLY YEARS - Something that
happened to you 50 or more years ago.
To RSVP (& get location information):

Long-term care in
the U.S. is confusing,
there's no doubt
about it. And trying
to sort through the
elements and options
can be stressful.
But there are some
resources to help.
PBS has put together
a selection of
frequently asked
questions that they
receive, along with
recommended
sources for further
information.

costumed reenactment of the founding ceremony, originally held on April

We Need Your Support!
.
It's true that there's a membership fee to
be a member of Santa Barbara Village -but membership dues don't cover all of
our operating expenses to be here as a
greater community resource as
well, through our many free public
workshops, presentations, collaborations
with other nonprofits, and more.
Don't fall for this
"Grandparents
Scam"
that targets seniors.
Scammers research
grandchildren online
and then prey on
their grandparents
on the phone,
pretending to be
their grandchildren
in emergency
situations needing
money.

story on this.
