Taping for the Lower Extremity
Taping for the Upper Extremity
Clinically we seek methods to maximize outcomes, improve patient comfort levels,
and optimize carryover of treatment benefits from session to session. Taping, in
a variety of forms, has been used for years in the management of both acute and
chronic conditions. Taping offers the advantage of extended benefit to the patient
with minimal negative effect. This workshop provides a unique experience for the
learner by combining a variety of corrective and kinesiology taping techniques for
the treatment of many commonly encountered clinical pathologies of the lower
extremity. You will learn to target motor impairments and biomechanical faults
related to dysfunction and address them with taping and select exercise strategies.
Additional symptom management strategies are included.
Kinesiology taping is a growing modality utilized in the treatment of a variety
conditions encountered in the clinic today. Taping, in a variety of forms, has been
used for years in the management of both acute and chronic conditions. Taping
offers the advantage of extended benefit to the patient with minimal negative
effect. This provides a unique experience for the learner by combining a variety of
corrective and kinesiology taping techniques for the treatment of many commonly
encountered clinical pathologies of the upper extremity. The workshop will
systematically work through techniques for the entire upper quarter, including
biomechanics and exercise strategies to optimize treatment. Additional symptom
management strategies are included.
This workshop features lecture presentations with ample photos and videos, open
discussions, case studies, and live taping and exercise demonstration. Extensive lab
time will be devoted to a HANDS-ON instruction approach, with significant time for
practicing newly learned techniques.
