Opening Times and Closures List 2015
As the official residences of The Queen are working royal palaces, opening arrangements may
change at short notice. Please check our website www.royalcollection.org.uk or contact the
Ticket Sales and Information Office for short notice closures on +44 (0)20 7766 7321.
Changes are highlighted in yellow.
Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle is open daily throughout the year, with a few exceptions when the Castle is
in use for official functions.

Open daily, 09:45-17:15 (last admission 16:00)
Castle completely closed
3 April 2015 (only Castle Precincts open)

On these dates, The Precincts, Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Drawings Gallery will
continue to be open. Reduced admission charges will apply.
Semi-State Rooms closed
During the winter months an additional five rooms, known collectively as the Semi-State
Rooms, are included in the visitor route. These rooms will re-open to the public from 27
September 2014 – 29 March 2015 and standard admission charges apply. Please note that
when the State Apartments are closed the Semi-State Rooms will not be open.

St George’s Chapel is also closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the
day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services.
The Drawings Gallery
The Drawings Gallery displays changing exhibitions of material from the Royal Collection.

The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open annually during the summer months when
the Palace is not in use for official functions.
