Alex: Thanks Riley and good morning Seaholm! Lily: Lily: The school store has started a special contest, and they've hidden tickets around the school. If you find one of the tickets and turn it into Mr. Munaco, you will be entitled to a free snack or drink at the Maple Tree. Clues will be given on the announcements and the first clue is: "You need to make the advertising display pop!" Lily: Congratulations to the following students for having their artwork in the annual senior art show: Sydney McKay, Emily Blair, Christina Dennis, Marisel Farias, Alexi Sit'-la-kee-dees, Noah Correll, Joey Sheremet, Alexis LaBruzzy, Olivia Steele, Natalie Utley, Laura Nagley, Armelle Taylor and Allie Haag. The show will be up for the next couple weeks at the Administration Building on Evergreen Road. Stop by and see your fellow classmates' amazing work! Lily: The administration is looking for volunteers to help with parent/teacher conferences, next Thursday, April 30th from 3:45 to 7:00pm. The sign-up sheet is in the main office. It's a great opportunity to receive community service hours, so sign up today. Lily: To continue the celebration of Earth Week, here is our green tip of the day: Moving your thermostat down just 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, so Dial it down. Lily: Attention all juniors! Career Day 2015 is approaching. The online sign-up begins on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:15am. You can view all of the offerings online before sign-ups begin by going to signupgenius.com, clicking on "find a sign up", and entering seaholmcareerday@gmail.com . You can also pick up a sheet with these directions in the office. If you have any questions, contact Alex Wineman or Natalie Leitman. Lily: Auditions for the 6th Annual One Act Festival will be held on April 23rd and 24th from 3pm-5pm in the Little Theatre. Students from all levels of experience are welcome. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to perform in an original play, written and directed by Seaholm students. Contact Amanda Najor, McKenna Ross, or Mr. LaBond if you have any questions. Lily: There is a Black student union meeting on Thursday, after school in A105. Everyone is welcome! Lily: Summer is just around the corner! Now is the time to start looking at all the great opportunities for community service over the vacation. Applications to be a summer camp counselor for Safety Town are due May 13th. Summer in the City, Miracle League, Farmer’s Market and Oakland County Parks and Rec are just a few of the fun places to April 22, 2015 SEAHOLM HIGH SCHOOL – AM Announcements volunteer. Stop by the Community Service Office to pick up the list of summer service opportunities. (Autism Awareness commercial) Jaime: Thanks to Bree Duhlberg for introducing Michael. Now, in honor of poetry month, I'd like to introduce Ms. Banish with a poem. (Poem - go to Camera 3) Jamie: In the lunch room today, you'll enjoy - a Backyard Barbecue Bowl, a Cheeseburger, Chicken Tenders, Spinach and Ricotta Pizza, a Turkey Pita, or a Chef Salad with Turkey. Riley: Today’s weather is brought to you by the Maple Tree, the one stop shop for all your Seaholm needs. Jamie: In today's weather – it's currently a chilly 43 degrees, with a brisk west wind at 12 miles per hour. Look for a chance of precipitation today, with a high of only 44, and a low of 32 degrees tonight. We can expect below average temperatures all week, and some of that precipitation today has been - and will be - snow! Jamie: Now let's take a moment WAIT FOR CUE!!!) for the Pledge of Allegiance. (PAUSE - Jamie: I pledge allegiance, to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands - one nation - under God indivisible - with liberty and justice for all. Jamie: For Lily Talmers and Riley Board, this has been Jamie Greene. Have a weird Wednesday! Riley: This has been the Seaholm Daily Bulletin for Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015.
