NOTIFICATION
Whereas the State Election Commission has issued Notification for General Election to 09
(Nine) Urban Local Bodies vide Notification No.l024/SEC dtd.03.03.2015 including General
Election of Ranpur NAC of Nayagarh District;
And whereas, election process is in progress in the aforesaid nine Urban Local Bodies;
And whereas, District Magistrate, Nayagarh vide letter No.968 dtd.31.03.2015 has reported
that the Election Officer of Ranpur NAC has published the reservation status of Wards wrongly
vide notice issued by him on 10.03.2015 for which the election process has been vitiated;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243-ZA of the Constitution
of India the State Election Commissioner being satisfied that the election process in respect of
Ranpur NAC is vitiated, do here by cancel the said notification issued vide Notification No. 1024
dtd.03.03.2015 in respect of Ranpur NAC only. Accordingly the action of the Election Officer of
Ranpur NAC subsequent to the said notification of the Commission is hereby cancelled;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243-ZA of the Constitution
of India, Section 11-A of Odisha Municipal Act, 1950 and Rule 23 (1) of the Odisha Municipal
(Delimitation of Wards, Reservation of Seats and Conduct of Election) Rules, 1994, the State
Election Commission do hereby appoint the following dates and time afresh in respect of
Ranpur NAC of Nayagarh District relating to the said election.

The Rules referred to above are as prescribed in the Odisha Municipal (Delimitation of
Wards, Reservation of Seats and Conduct of Election) Rules, 1994!
2.
The Model Code of Conduct shall become operational in the concerned ULB from the
date of issue of election notification by the State Election Commission, Odisha and shall
remain in force till completion of counting for election i.e. from 31.03.2015 to 06.05.2015.
3.
The Political Parties are requested to deliver Form No. IX latest by 5.00 PM of
18.04.2015 and Form No. X latest by 5.00 PM of 19.04.2015 to the concerned Election
Officer.
The Office of the Election Officer will be kept open on 19.04.2015 even though it
is a public holiday.
