Von der Idee zur Umsetzung
Elf buchbare touristische Angebote (siehe ab Seite 3),
entwickelt im Rahmen der letztjährigen atb_experience
zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit, wurden im Rahmen der
atb_sales im Jänner 2014 präsentiert, darunter der
Weissensee, das Gailtal, der Traunsee oder die
Hohen Tauern. Neben den Kojen als Ort für bilaterale
Gespräche war der „Austria Show Room“ ein
besonderer Themen-Handelsplatz.
Damit wurde die Verbindung zwischen atb_experience
(„Geschäft von Morgen“) und atb_sales („Geschäft von
Heute“) prominent dargestellt. Vertreter der „outdoor
experiences“ und „best of experience“ waren zur
atb_sales eingeladen um ihre buchbaren Produkt, die
durch die atb_experience entstanden, zu präsentieren.
Der Moderator John Megill sprach bei der persönlichen
Vorstellung der Angebote mit den Vertretern der
Tourismusverbänden und stellte Fragen: „Wir haben
uns bei der atb_experience kennen gelernt. Was ist
seitdem passiert? Was wurde entwickelt und kann jetzt
gebucht werden?“
Im Anschluss an die Präsentationen konnten die
Reiseveranstalter in einem eigenen Loungebereich mit
den Vertretern der Tourismusverbände die
vorgestellten Produkte einkaufen.

Exciting, delicious and fascinating at the

the Nature Park lake Weissensee. In one of the
most pristine biotopes throughout Austria you will see untouched nature like it had been back
then and on the raft you may enjoy regional delicacies like the known lake Weissensee fish.
Enjoy your stay in a culinary hike with horses along the shores of lake Weissensee.
At the arrival you’ll get an extensive introduction to this three-day programme and a little
welcome present from your host. On the second day you meet the wildlife ethologist HansPeter Sorger at 9.30 am. With him and his colleague zoologist Mag. Manuela Siller you’ll have
a ride by pleasure raft to the inspection of the habitats of bear, lynx, bearded and griffon
vulture. This unique programme promises magic moments. You’ll learn more about the
animals’ sense for weather conditions, trace and scent analysis (cast, scats, dens, plumes and
much more) and you’ll be able to observe animals – from life in an anthill to birds of prey like
peregrine falcons, golden eagles and griffon vultures. You’ll also learn interesting facts about
plants and flowers (medicinal and toxic plants, orchids). After about two hours you’ll turn back
to the raft at about noon. Martin Müller will spoil you with delicious lake Weissensee fish and
good wines. On the third day a culinary hike with horses awaits you. The tour starts at 9.30
am. This is a tasteful hike along the shores of the lake, where you’ll visit original farms offering
rest and delicacies. You’ll also get an insight into rural life at lake Weissensee, where the
farmers work in accordance with nature. On this tasteful hiking adventure Nature Park Ranger
Robert Röbl will accompany you. Taste and smell the Nature Park lake Weissensee during
this particular nature experience. On the fourth day you’ll get a “tasteful” present remembering
the magic moments in the Nature Park lake Weissensee.

Day 2: “Bay Discovery” and lake wellness
When the first rays of the sun touch the gentle waves, the time has come to explore the
southern shore of Lake Millstätter See by rowing boat. Gottlieb Strobl awaits you bright and
early at 8 o’clock in the morning at the Schillerstrand in Millstatt. After a short introduction on
the history of boat construction at the lake, Gottlieb takes you out on the lake in historical
rowing boats build with his own hands. “Sink in the oar, pull, glide along for 20 metres, watch
the waves dance on the water and suddenly, you’re out there in the middle of the lake”,
Gottlieb explains. Explore the picturesque spots along the undeveloped southern shore
(length: 11.7 km) of Lake Millstätter See – a tour with sensuous lake encounters
(Seeberührung®). The guided 1,5 hour bay discovery tour leads across gentle waves to
pristine places and through rystal-clear, emerald-green water reflecting the surrounding
woodland. Enjoy the views of historical Millstatt and its mundane turn-of-last-century villas.
Carinthia's first bathhouse in Millstatt offers top class lake wellness all year round. All facilities
are located directly by the lake, exclusive views of Lake Millstätter See are guaranteed. 1,400
m2 offer a sauna area with several cabins, steam baths and a lake sauna on stilts with direct
lake access. The massage and beauty area accommodates seven cabins and spa suites for
couples. Here, guests can indulge in individual, high quality "lake wellness" treatments. In the
small outdoor infinity pool, which is filled with water heated to 35° C, guests have the feeling of
swimming directly inside the lake. Indulge in a typical garnet stone massage or the local Zirbepine massage and leave everyday life behind. Finish the day of lake wellness with a dinner at
“L’Onda”, the bathhouse’s very own restaurant serving Alpine-Adriatic specialities.
Day 3: Millstätter See Alpine Trail
Take the day to hike parts of the Millstätter See Alpine Trail and indulge in stunning views of
the lake and the surrounding mountains. On the second part of the trail through the realm of
the garnet - the "flintstone of love" - hikers will roam the gentle summits of the Millstatt Alps,
whose tracks and trails are "paved" with the rubine red gemstones. After the hike, learn more
about the gemstones and dig your own from the rock at the Granatium visitor center in
Radenthein.

of the Dobratsch Mountain from a new perspective from the water. Experience “the Wild" as the Gail River is called nestled between the Dobratsch
Mountain and the Carnic ridge by canoe. After paddling stop at Lisi’s alpine restaurant for a traditional
paddle snack. Along the 1,600 m high south wall of the Dobratsch mountain this canoe trip takes you to
Europe's unique wilderness scenery of the “Schütt”. Experience peaceful river stretches and wild
rapids. The Gail river, whose name derives from the Slavic „the Wild“ is easily controlled by everyone
after the detailed instructions of our experienced guides. After the initial instructions your guide you will
start with you from the bay in Nötsch and give you additional information about the environment. At the
beginning the Gail meanders relatively calmly, so you can enjoy the natural beauty on both sides of the
river. After two thirds of the way you will encounter some more demanding passages that require your
concentration in the canoe. After this exciting part we exit at the Nepomuk Bridge. Back on land we
walk across the bridge and leave the tour with a delightful paddle snack at Lisi's alpine restaurant. We
continue now per minibuses back to the starting point in Nötsch.
Thursday: Buffet breakfast in the hotel, Wildlife Nature Park Dobratsch & Dinner at the hotel
Wildlife Nature Park Dobratsch: Equipped with high-quality Swarovski binoculars we start to the Natural
Park Dobratsch Mountain at the beginning of the Villach Alpine Road. At the toll station, a park ranger
expects you, who will accompany you through the day. The ascent of the 16.5 km long panoramic road is a
delight. We start the day with a small „Nature Park Breakfast " at the parking lot 2 of the Villach Alpine Road.
At 1,732 meters above sea level you should pause for a few minutes and enjoy the landscape. Meanwhile
your park ranger will explain the eventful history of the area in detail. The nature park Dobratsch has been
the first natural park in Carinthia. Before the year 2002, this was an alpine ski area, which was then carefully
removed for the protection and benefit of nature. Since then, a rich biodiversity can grow here protected
plants and animals can grow in peace. After the introduction to the history of the natural park you walk uphill
in the early morning from the Rosstrattenstüberl alpine hut. Along the hike, you can enjoy a variety of wildlife
and, with some luck, spot alpine jackdaws, alpine swift, perhaps black grouse and capercailzie through your
binoculars. Along the southern slopes golden eagles may glide and can be seen best from the Brunnleitn.
Here you may also see the first chamois. From the “10er Haus” enjoy the breathtaking mountain panorama
and, during a delicious natural park picnic with specialties from the farmers in the region, learn more exciting
details about the development of this natural park. On the way back you maybe want to study the beautiful
exhibits along the geological trail.
Friday: Breakfast Buffet & Departure
Services included: 4 nights including breakfast buffet, Canoe trip with specialized and
licensed guide, Life jacket, paddle, waterproof box, Thorough canoeing instruction, Paddle
snack after the end of the canoe trip, Transfer between exit and entry point, Transfer from the
