The Warriors will use their own bodies to bend metal rods, break objects in precise strikes and be lifted in the air on the points of handheld spears. The 2014 Nuclear Cowboyz tour also welcomes the return of the alluring Nuclear Cowgirlz dancers and a team of acrobatic masters. Not only will fans of all ages get treated to unforgettable performances, but at every Nuclear Cowboyz show, audiences will have the opportunity to meet the riders and cast prior to the show during the Nuclear Cowboyz Fallout ZoneSM and at a post show autograph session. Temecula, CA Osaka, Japan Mays Landing, NJ Minden, NV Carson City, NV Redding, CA Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg is one of the most decorated athletes in the sport of freestyle motocross (FMX). Stenberg, considered one of the founding fathers in the sport of FMX, began riding dirt bikes at the tender age of two. Stenberg earned the nickname “Twitch” after being diagnosed with Tourette’s at eight years old. Stenberg stands at the top of his class, having earned a remarkable 16 X Games medals in multiple disciplines. Competing since the early ‘90s, Stenberg has participated in hundreds of FMX events, earning titles and high honors in popular competitions such as X Games, Red Bull X Fighters, Dew Tour, Vans Triple Crown FMX Tour, LG FMX Championship, and many others. Takayuki “Taka” Higashino, son of a Japanese firefighter from Osaka, began riding dirt bikes at eight years old. He has since progressed into one of the sport’s most identifiable figures. In 2006, Higashino left Osaka for Temecula, CA, immersing himself in a completely new language and culture with one goal in mind, dominate the sport of freestyle motocross (FMX). Growing up in Mays Landing, NJ, Ronnie “Kung Fu” Faisst started riding dirt bikes when he was eight years old, and by the time he was 10, he knew the pro ranks is where he belonged. As Faisst’s career progressed, he decided to move west to capitalize on the ideal riding conditions year-round. Faisst linked up with Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg and eventually the two teamed up with several others to become the true pioneers of the freestyle motocross (FMX) movement. The Nuclear Cowboyz veteran is a four-time X Games medalist, having competed in 14 X Games events. He has also earned one silver medal and two bronze medals in the Gravity Games. Faisst is known for introducing the shaolin and indian air bar hops to the sport. Outside of the contest role, Faisst has played a major part in nearly every action sports tour across the world. Growing up near South Lake Tahoe, Matt Buyten, who is now 33, started riding dirt bikes at age 11. Buyten gives a lot of credit to his dad, who encouraged him to cross over from bicycle motocross (BMX) to freestyle motocross (FMX). The transition proved to be successful. Buyten has competed and earned medals in multiple X Games events, winning four gold, three silver, and three bronze medals in the Step Up competition. In 2013, Buyten’s accomplishments drew attention from FMX’s leading brand Metal Mulisha, and he soon inked a deal to become their newest member. When he’s not on the track, Buyten can be found playing golf. Mike Mason, a freestyle heavyweight, was given his first-dirt bike as a birthday present from his dad and he has been hooked ever since. Mason has competed professionally in both racing and freestyle, dating back to his early days dominating the arenacross circuit. Mason’s experience has since paid dividends, and now at 32 years old, he is known in the freestyle industry for his articulated trick inventory and clean style. Since competing at the professional level, Mason has locked in seven X Games medals, including his most recent gold medal victories during the 2013 X Games. Mason is also a two-time ASA World Champion of FMX and has earned many additional victories throughout his career. Nick Dunne started riding dirt bikes when he was four years old. Hailing from Redding, CA, Dunne, 26, began making a name for himself in the freestyle scene in 2010 after earning victories at American Freestyle Motocross Association (AFMXA) and Dew Tour events. Dunne has also competed in the Red Bull X Fighters. Armed with an arsenal of insane flip combos, Dunne is commonly known for his signature trick, the captain flip. When he’s not on two wheels, Stenberg dominates on four wheels, racing in the largest, nationally sanctioned short course off-road racing series where he has one Super Lite truck title, multiple wins, and in 2010, “Rookie of the Year” honors. Higashino linked up with freestyle legends and fellow Nuclear Cowboyz teammates Ronnie Faisst and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg to get his footing in the sport. Eight years later and at 28 years old, Higashino has established himself as an FMX powerhouse, adding three gold, one silver and one bronze X Games medals to his credentials, making him the only FMX athlete from Japan to do so. To date, Higashino has competed in eight X Games events. In 2013, he won his first Red Bull X Fighters competition at his hometown event in Osaka, and just two years earlier, won the ASA World Championship of Freestyle. Higashino is renowned for his double-seat grab indy and rock solid back flips. Those who are close to Higashino can attest that he thinks about FMX 24/7. When he is not practicing, he is studying videos of himself on how to improve an extension or better a new trick. When not on tour with Nuclear Cowboyz or participating in other FMX events, Faisst trains at his freestyle compound behind his house, in Temecula, CA, which is complete with multiple ramps and a motocross (MX) track. Faisst is also an accomplished martial artist, which is how he earned the nickname “Kung Fu Faisst”. He has been involved in martial arts since age five after being inspired by a Bruce Lee film. When he’s not investing time on his dirt bike, Mason likes to focus on playing the guitar. Outside of the Nuclear Cowboyz tour, Dunne competes at many demos and FMX competitions around the nation. He also keeps on top of his training regime as it helps him perform at the peak of his game. In his spare time, Dunne likes to snowboard, hunt and fish. Carter began riding dirt bikes at age 10 and by the age of 18 joined the pro ranks competing on the International Freestyle Motocross Association (IFMA) FMX tour and a handful of other freestyle events across the globe. Carter has earned first place at the ASA World Championships, X Pilots and IFMXF event. In 2012, Carter’s career was taken to the next level after receiving an invite to the Red Bull X Fighters competition. Unfortunately, an injury during practice placed his debut on hold. The 2014 Nuclear Cowboyz tour marks Carter’s first year riding with the show. (Trials) (Trials) Temecula, CA Templeton, MA San Clemente, CA Elkhorn, WI Bailey, CO Jimmy Fitzpatrick was just five years old when he first rode a dirt bike. Now, at 29, he is recognized in the freestyle motocross (FMX) community for his smooth back flip combos and was one of the first riders on the Nuclear Cowboyz tour to back flip while on fire. Growing up in San Clemente, CA, Derek Garland began riding dirt bikes at eight years old. He and his dad would frequently take trips out to the desert and let loose. Garland competed in his first freestyle motocross (FMX) show when he was 16 in Costa Mesa, CA. Those close to Garland know him as a silent, yet exceptionally talented FMX rider with a knack for smooth style and an inventory of difficult tricks. Unlike most riders in the sport that hail from the West Coast pleasantries, Phil Smage grew up riding motorcycles on a farm in Wisconsin. As his abilities on two-wheels progressed through the competitive ranks, Smage and his brother decided to take their careers to the next level and showcase their talent to audiences around the country. This exposure eventually landed them a spot on American Reality TV Series Americas Got Talent. Growing up, Fitzpatrick was a skilled athlete. He spent six years training as a Junior Olympic diver, followed by a stint playing high school football, before reaching the professional ranks in FMX. Whether he is on the road or taking time off in between events, Wilson stays in shape by working out on a regular basis particularly by lifting weights, mountain biking, cross-country riding and skateboarding. Geoff Aaron, of Bailey, CO, currently holds the U.S. trials record with 10 AMA/NATC U.S. National Trials Championships. Aaron has 73 national wins, six New England Trials Championships, and six El Trial de Espana honors. A 15-time member of the U.S. Trials Des Nations Team, Aaron was named AMA Amateur Athlete of the Year in 2000. That same year (and again in 2006) he was named AMA Sports Athlete of the Year. In 2007, following many years of success in trials competitions, Aaron transitioned to focus exclusively on finetuning his EnduroCross skills. Two years into his new adventure, Aaron earned runner up honors in the AMA EnduroCross Series. When he’s not touring North America on the Nuclear Cowboyz tour, Aaron likes to share his passion for trials by hosting demos for audiences across the globe. Fitzpatrick currently lives on his family’s 53-acre vineyard in Temecula, CA, which houses his stateof-the-art training compound where the globe’s top FMX riders frequent, including his Nuclear Cowboyz colleagues. Fitzpatrick one day hopes to expand the family business with his brothers by opening a brewery as part of the vineyard. Wilson now resides full-time in Temecula, CA and trains on his property, which is equipped with a foam pit and dirt ramps. Now 28, Garland has competed on the AST Dew Tour as well as the Masters of Dirt competition, where he took fourth place. He also competed in the X Games internationally in 2008, where he locked in fifth place during the Best Trick event. He has been involved in hundreds of FMX demos and continues to entertain audiences across the globe. Garland’s fitness routine includes long-distance running. He’s competed in several marathons and races. Garland also became the first freestyle rider to swim 1.5 miles from Alcatraz island to the shores of San Francisco at the annual Alcatraz Swim: Swim with the Centurions™. He also continues to surf, a hobby picked up back in high school. When loafing at home, Garland likes to practice guitar and play the drums. When he feels the need to escape life on shore, he pilots his 27-foot sailboat “Mayhem” to California’s Catalina Island. For more than 13 years Smage has competed in multiple AMA National Trials Championships and throughout his tenure he has locked in four top-10 finishes. Smage has also competed in several AMA EnduroCross events. Outside of his two-wheel career, Smage is a multi-time X Games champion in the Snowskating discipline, which is a form of skateboarding on snow, minus the wheels. Picado spent nearly four years attempting the flip before successfully landing it on dirt in 2011. Picado started riding four-wheelers at age 10. His passion for the sport developed from his earlier years riding quads with his dad on the beaches of Costa Rica. Before getting into freestyle, Picado spent nine years racing ATVs in Costa Rica. In 2008, Picado decided to take a break from racing and enter the realm of freestyle by constructing his very own freestyle playground on his property, which happens to be the only set of freestyle ramps in Costa Rica. As Picado’s trick inventory progressed, he was took his talent to newer heights by moving to America, where he would link up with fellow Nuclear Cowboyz rider Colten Moore. (Quad) Colten Moore returns for a fourth year as backflipping quad freestyle rider. Moore first began riding quads at 12 years old. As his skill progressed in the sport, Moore began adding freestyle to the mix. At 19 years old, he successfully landed his first backflip on a quad. From the transformation of an arena to the Nuclear Cowboyz playground, to the delicate multi-step process behind the show’s creation, teams begin strategizing more than a year prior to the tour launch. Creative minds come together to lay the groundwork for a new storyline, action cues and scenic design. Teams will also ensure that the show’s soundtrack is thoughtfully mixed for each scene to blend the energy with the story. Additionally, creative teams work together on selecting new pyrotechnics, laser effects, and more. Stunt Choreographer Micky Dymond explains show cues with the Nuclear Cowboyz riders. At each tour stop, once the semi-trucks arrive and the set is unloaded, crews begin the building process by laying turf over the venue floor. As the floor is laid, crews start assembling the set, installing sound and lighting equipment as well as laser and pyrotechnic devices. No two venues are alike, so crews must invest a lot of time measuring distances for ramp placements to guarantee the safety of all the Nuclear Cowboyz cast. Wherever Nuclear Cowboyz is performing, word travels fast. Throughout the touring season, broadcast and print outlets link up with Nuclear Cowboyz cast to share the tour’s excitement with their audiences. Here’s what a few of the media outlets had to say. “The show itself is like something out of a graphic novel. Thanks to its accomplished team, Nuclear Cowboyz shows are entertaining, action-packed, and appropriate for all ages – but they also provide an environment where riders can step outside the normal confines of competition and get back to the roots of freestyle.” -RACER X ILLUSTRATED “Part Motocross, part show, the Nuclear Cowboyz tour is a rock opera on wheels” - ASSOCIATED PRESS “Nuclear Cowboyz is wild. There is so much excitement thrown at you. It’s really the only place to catch the world’s top FMX riders performing as a team rather than in a competition.” - SPIKE TV, PLAYBOOK 360 “It’s a sensory overload unlike anything motocross fans have ever seen before! Between the death-defying tricks, pyrotechnics, lasers, dancers and acrobats, the show keeps audience on the edge of their seats. These tricks are tough enough for one person, but imagine having 25 performers out there at one time!” - ABC NEW ORLEANS “I loved this show. It is a must see for all ages. This is a show that both girls, boys, men and women of all ages will enjoy. It is produced by a father/daughter team to be sure to catch the attention of all. The performers are world-class medalists that clearly enjoy what they are doing. There are so many things to look at through the entire show that you are never not paying attention or caught missing something. Fans are guaranteed to enjoy this jaw dropping rendition of the super elite freestyle motocross performers.” - DAILY LEISURE “My boys are 5 & 4 and in the name of research, I took them to see the show. There is probably one way to describe the show and this is it: There was ice cream all over their faces and running down their shirts because they could not take their eyes off the show for one second to see where they were spooning the ice cream. They kept missing their mouths. To say they were obsessed with the show would be an understatement: they were literally glued.” – AVERAGEMOMSWEARCAPES.COM “Nuclear Cowboyz was awesome! Our experience with this show is a prime example of why I think every parent should go do something “out of the box” with their kids. My son is little, so I was nervous about the loud music and the possibility of some scary characters showing up (in both the show AND the audience). As soon as he saw the first guy fly off a ramp and do a flip, my fears evaporated. He immediately picked a team to root for and lost himself in the storyline.” – PARENTALGUIDANCE NJ.COM “THIS SHOW IS INDEED FAMILY-FRIENDLY. My son is a bigtime BMX/X-Games-type fan, so the EXTREME stunts performed by the Nuclear Cowboyz (seriously, I didn’t think you could physically do that with a motorbike) were right up his alley. I enjoyed the much tamer performances of the Cyborg Army, Metal Mulisha (their spelling, not mine) and the Soldiers of Havoc…. however, the boys and I agreed the laser show was totally AWESOME!” –THISFULLHOUSE.COM The newly formed alliance between Nuclear Cowboyz and Monster Energy is helping to promote environmental awareness in a positive way. During each event, fans that recycle a Monster Energy can at designated areas throughout the venue will receive access to the Lightning Lane. The Lightning Lane is an exclusive VIP lane that grants fans first-in-line privileges to the post-event autograph line to meet the best freestyle riders on the planet.
