Iris unguicularis ‘Mary Barnard’
One of the toughest of evergreen
perennials which gives so much reward
for so little effort thriving as it does in
almost any position except dense
shade. It has thin arching dark green
leaves in which the loveliest of fragrant
dark blue flowers nestle from May until
September. The flowers last well in
water if they are gathered in bud just
before they unfurl. Sun or light shade.
40cm x 50cm.
$10.00 each or 3 for $27.00
Jasminum parkeri
Rock Jasmine
This beautiful dwarf, dense growing
shrub is native to a very localised area
of the Chamba District in north India
where it grows in dry rocky areas at
about 800 metres. In cultivation it is both
drought tolerant and frost hardy. We
grow it in a part of the garden which is
only irrigated two or three times a year.
During spring fragrant lemon-yellow
flowers cover the dark green foliage. In
ten years it has made 60ccm tall by 70
across.

Salvia nemorosa ‘Kate Glenn’
This hybrid between Salvia nemorosa
ssp tesquicola and Salvia ‘Wesuwe’
popped up in our dry garden a couple of
years ago. It has the early flowering
habit and dark flowers of the latter and
the showy bracts of the former. A terrific
plant which I named for my daughter.
Tough, sun loving, drought tolerant and
beautiful. 70 cm X 60 cm.
$10.00 each or 3 for $27.00
Santolina ‘Petite Blanc’
One of the most stunning new imports,
S. ’Petite Blanc’ makes a dwarf, neat
round evergreen shrub. During summer
the dark green foliage is a perfect foil for
the ivory white billy buttons. Lambley
imported this from Olivier Filippi’s
nursery in the south of France a couple
of years ago. Happy in any sunny well
drained spot ‘Petit Blanc’ will grow 35cm
tall by 40cm across.
