Permaculture - design for an energetic downhill world
Permaculture - design for an energetic downhill world Permaculture is a design system that integrates various disciplines such as agriculture, construction, energy, hydrological design, and others, under an ethic of care of the land, in order to generate regenerative human settlements. It is about imitating nature in our designs, taking full advantage of natural resources while regenerating ecosystems. It also proposes a comprehensive vision of the organization of regenerative communities with high social impact and low environmental impact. About Permaculture study Australia Permaculture study Australia is taught around the world by various permaculture centres since the 1980s. It is a life experience in which the participant receives the tools and knowledge to design productive permaculture systems that benefit the environment and their community. Currently, the design certificate allows for advanced studies in regenerative design and is a powerful support to accredit knowledge in the area of sustainability and environmental projects. In each module of Permaculture design course Australia, we will see a fundamental theme of regenerative design and its application to the local context. In the course of the different subjects, the participants will work on group projects in which they will apply what they have learned in the course to make a presentation on the last day with which they will apply for their certification. In addition, the experience of life and learning in community, sharing under the same care ethics of the Earth, generates in the participants the commitment to begin the change from its local context and a positive attitude towards the world contingency. Finally, the technical tools of site design and the work in group projects, allow certifying the participant to start his path towards sustainability with a solid and coherent base. The certification is granted by the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia and Re-Genera. To be certified, the participant must approve the evaluations and attend all the classes. Benefits of Permaculture design: • It helps the personal economy of those who follow this lifestyle since the expenses are lower. • The economy of the local area is stimulated. • The renewable energies that are used at the beginning may need a high investment, such as solar panels, but in the long run, they are amortized and are a great advantage, reducing the cost in electricity and pollution. • Collaborate to keep the present and at the same time ensure a future, to take care of the planet instead of abusing it. • It helps to raise awareness in society, both children and the elderly, that we have to take care of the planet, that we are not the only inhabitants and that it is possible to do so and at the same time improve many aspects of our quality of life.
