NgaPheChaung Monastery
It’s a beautiful Monastery which was built at Inle Lake, over stilts, that’s about 200 years ago. The local people
consider it to be the largest and oldest monastery at Inle Lake region. It has been constructed within the floating
gardens and it’s a good place that you can visit. It’s made of woods and houses Buddha images in Inwa, Began,
Tibetan and Shan style. When you visit it you’ll be able to see the mosaic decorated and tall pedestals built for
these images which revealed the Northern Thai and Shan Buddhist art.
The local people refer to it has a Jumping Cat Monastery, since it used to train which jumped through hoops.
