Soap Opera Digest brings you these answers and more in its weekly Star Style feature. Star Style gives readers a peek into soap stars’ cosmetic cases and closets and provides entertaining commentary from the Soap Opera Digest Style Squad. Sometimes our experts agree and sometimes they don’t, making Star Style must-read for all. what they’re wearing...wh ..wh ere they’re t going...what they’re doing my look before and after What’s the newest thing you’ve added to your wardrobe? “I got two things. One is the new pair of John Varvatos boots that are actually on their way from Bloomingdale’s, thank you very much. The other is a pair of Louis Vuitton heeled shoes. They’re a nice brown, almost like a brown marble, and they’re low-rise, wing tip shoes. I love them because they’re classy and classic, and obviously Louis Vuitton is a great name. You can wear them with a pair of jeans. You can wear them with a suit or you can wear them however the hell you want because they’re great shoes and they’ll last forever.” What’s been the one essential of your summer wardrobe that you’ve enjoyed wearing and you’ll miss once fall starts? “Shorts! I’ve been wearing shorts a lot lately. We were going on location one day at [B&B Co-Creator Lee Phillip Bell’s] house and I wore shorts that day and a couple of people pointed out, ‘You’re wearing shorts today.’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And they’re like, ‘You never wear shorts. You always wear jeans or long pants.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s my work outfit. Today, we’re on location.’ I’m going to miss wearing shorts. I always feel like I’m on a boat somewhere.” What are you looking forward to bringing out of the closet as the weather gets chillier? “My coats. I love my pea coats and my leather jacket. I love cold weather because I grew up in Hawaii, where it’s like 80 degrees all year-round, so whenever I do get winter or fall or anything that’s a little chilly, I love wearing a nice pea coat and keeping it classy with jeans and these new Louis Vuitton shoes or some boots. I love that style.” If you won a $1,000 shopping spree, what store would you choose to spend it? “Johnny Varvatos, baby. I love Varvatos.” PHOTOS: JILL JOHNSON/JPI star tar SOAP OPERA DIGEST Favorite beauty products, wardrobe must-haves and accessory do’s and don’ts make this feature a fashion encyclopedia overflowing with information. n Stacy Haiduk has a new look since last airing in 2012 as Y&R’s Patty. “I had to before let them know that I after had shorter hair,” says the i g tto ggett actress. “I had it cut off a while ago andd hhave bbeen ttrying my hair back to a healthy place so the in-between stages of growing it out are just not fun. But Patty always has something going on at the sanitarium. She can color her hair and do all sorts of things [laughs].” Which was evident when Haiduk was wrapping up her last stint three years ago when Paul was visiting his twisted sister at Fairview Hospital. “The first time I shot that last scene with Doug [Davidson, Paul] , my hair was reddish and then I came back and it was suddenly darker,” she explains. “I was desperately trying to get the red out and it wouldn’t go away, so I went really dark.” gray matters The characters on B&B like to remain neutral. I need the nutrients, especially with the schedule I have. I need to eat. I’ll have fish, chicken, lots of salads. Danny [her husband] and I have been on this great salad kick. We take lots of aru- gula, lots of avocado — because it’s a good fat, so I eat a lot of that — cherry tomatoes, red onions and creamy feta cheese. I then take olive oil and a nice, fresh lemon and squeeze the lemon all over. I use just a little olive oil; coat your lettuce. We all need the good fats in our system. I finish it off with a little sea salt. It’s a delicious little side. I have some kind of protein, usually eggs, but that will change when my diet transitions to vegan. I also have a vice, which is espresso or capp cappuccino. It’s a healthy breakfast that is low in fats.” Lunch: “I don’t eat lunch. For me, I think lunch is kind of a useless meal. On average, I think we as human beings consume way too much food. As the years go by, you also need less food. I might have a snack during the day, which is usually fruit or a KIND snack bar. They have nuts and are very low in sugar. If I go to lunch with someone, I’ll usually have a salad.
