This glamorous resort is considered to have the best beach in the Caribbean; and it’s also known as the spot for romantic adventures. Located along the intimate crescent of Maundays Bay on the exclusive island of Anguilla, Cap Juluca is a recently re-envisioned 179-acre haven where sand, wind and water blend seamlessly with world-class dining, exceptional outdoor activities, high-end accommodations, amenities and outstanding guest services delivered by the friendliest people of the Caribbean. The resort, featuring Greco-Moorish architecture, has recently received several millions of dollars’ worth of refreshment and rejuvenation including the reconstruction of the Main House social hub, the addition of 60,000 new flowering plants, modernization of back-of-the-house functions and changes and revitalization to its four dining venues and luxurious guest accommodations. HISTORY: Cap Juluca’s pristine white sand beach is as it was thousands of years ago when the island of Anguilla was inhabited in 1500 B.C. by a peaceful tribe of Amerindians called the Arawaks, who originated in South America. The Arawaks were farmers and fishermen, and much of what is known about them today comes from the petroglyphs and archeological remains discovered in two ceremonial cave sites on the island. Cap Juluca was named for the rainbow spirit of the Arawak whose presence can still be felt– as rains come and go, the sun shines through the bright colors of the rainbow. OWNERSHIP: Charles & Linda Hickox GUEST ROOMS: Every one of the resort’s 15 villas housing 69 guestrooms is beachfront allowing guests to feel gentle Caribbean breezes blowing across their private covered terrace into their luxurious guestroom through louvered plantation shutters.
