Dear Friends of STCS & Walsh:
Welcome to Southern Tier Catholic School and Archbishop Walsh Academy and to the 2013 Eagles Gala
Auction - New York. This auction celebrates everything New York - from the appetizers, dinner, some of the
items on auction and of course the decorated gymnasium. We sincerely hope you have a wonderful evening
exploring and bidding on all of the fantastic gifts that have been donated as well as dining on the delicious
food provided by Dina’s of Ellicottville.
The Eagles Gala Auction is an important event for the STCS and Walsh community, primarily because it
involves the entire community – our parents, alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends coming together to
help raise funds for the needs of the schools. Every dollar raised this evening benefits the full spectrum of
our student body – scholar, athlete, artist, or club participant – and assists us in fulfilling our mission. Your
presence here this evening will ensure that we carry forward with our mission in preparing our young men and
women, not only for college, but for life!
If you take a look around the school this evening, you will notice some of our students serving a delicious
meal from Dina’s of Ellicottville These young men and women – our students – are why we are all here
tonight, supporting the efforts of the Eagles Gala Auction. Our goal is to welcome every student into our
community and provide an excellent education from Montessori to the highly ranked Elementary School and
Middle School to the International Baccalaureate High School. You might also notice some of our faculty
and staff volunteering and working behind the scenes of the auction. Their dedication is extraordinary, and it
is their commitment to education and to each individual student that allows our community to continue to
grow and aspire to new heights. I thank you for helping to make this possible.

contributed their advertisement, patronage, and services to our catalog and auction. We are most grateful for

Auction Procedures
Silent Auction
 All silent auction areas will open at 5:30 p.m.
 Bids are made using the assigned Bidder Identification number printed on your Auction night bidding paddle. You may only bid with the number assigned to you. This number matches your name with the Auction database and bank for all your bidding and purchases throughout the evening.
 Each item in the Silent Auction has a bid sheet. Each sheet is divided into a series of incremental bidding steps. Place a bid by printing your assigned bidder number on the appropriate line. Please print clearly, since illegible bids will be discarded. Under no circumstances may a bid sheet be removed or earlier bids crossed out.
 Each opening bid must equal or exceed the minimum bid indicated on the bid sheet and you must increase the bid by at least the next minimum raise indicated.
 An item is closed when a bid is placed in the “Buy It Now Box” or an Auction Official closes the bidding area at the posted closing time. No further bids will be accepted for that item, with no exceptions.
Any bids entered after official closing of an area will not be recognized.
Live Auction
 The Live Auction will commence at 8:15 p.m. and continue without interruption until all items have
been auctioned.
 Please hold your bidding number high in the air so there is no question of your intention to bid. Do not hesitate to verbalize your bid.
 Decisions of the auctioneer are final.
 The winning bid number will be recorded and will constitute the bidder’s agreement to pay this amount.
Check-Out & Payment
 All sales are final. There will be no cash refunds with goods exchangeable only where specified.
 Payment in full is to be made on the evening of the Auction by Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa or
Master Card).
 All items and certificates must be picked up on Auction night unless otherwise specified.
 Purchasers are bound by any restrictions or expiration dates as specified by the donor. Unless otherwise
noted, all goods and services must be claimed and used within one year of the auction date.
 If appropriate, please contact the donor as soon as possible to finalize arrangements.

Check-out made fast & easy. Register for “QuickCheck” at the entrance table.
Hand in the completed form you received in the mail or stop to fill one out. You may either
provide a signed blank check made payable to Archbishop Walsh Academy or list your
credit card information (Visa or MasterCard).
At the end of the evening, head to “QuickCheck” located in the lobby. Review your
final purchase total for the evening and then head directly to Gift Depot to pick-up your items.
We will complete the payment process for you. Following the Auction you will be mailed a
final purchase statement, as well as a reservation statement (if applicable) summarizing your
total purchases and any tax deductible amounts.
STCS & Walsh have endeavored to catalog and describe the donated goods and services correctly based on the information provided by
the donor. STCS & Walsh make no express or implied warranties whatsoever, including estimate of value with respect to any items sold.
All goods and services are auctioned in “as is” condition. In the event that a donor defaults in providing a promised service or the item
purchased, the refund by STCS/Walsh is limited to the amount paid at the Auction.

painted the original Crucifix Icon in the 12th Century and in 1257, the Poor Clares left San

will spend three days with Ambassador Gabriel, learning how the Washington
policy community works and makes policy, with an emphasis on foreign
affairs. As part of this experience the student will meet with current and past
policy makers to learn more about their careers and experiences, as well as the
