Our heart is drawn “to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.” Forty-four million youth ages 18 and under play organized sports in America.* In our effort to fulfill this great vision, we know that we have much more to do, and we need more teammates, like you. FCA Sports (Sport-Specific Ministry) provides opportunities to serve athletes and coaches in the sport(s) where their greatest passion lies. FCA Sports exists for those who have: • A passion for Jesus Christ. • A passion for their sport. • A passion to reach people in their sport for Christ. *National Council of Youth Sports, 2008 FCA Sports FCA Sports Ministry Opportunities The strategy described on these pages provides you with an understanding of different opportunities to join in our effort to impact - Every Athlete. Every Coach. Every Sport. • Volunteer as a coach at a clinic, camp or conference • Pray for the FCA Sports ministry • Provide financial support for the FCA Sports ministry • Train, equip and resource local people to impact the athletes and coaches of their sport within their local community. • Coordinate ministry programs that impact their sport for Christ. • Develop new sports ministries that deepen the impact within their sport. Each FCA Sports ministry is led by an FCA staff member who works in partnership to lead focused ministry within the varying structures and levels of each sport. They also work with local volunteers to use specific sports to grow the impact of the local ministry efforts such as working with leagues, creating events, adding specific sports to current camps or adding new camps. Our goal is to have twelve FCA Sports ministries by 2012. Lacrosse - Clinics One or two-day clinics in the local areas offer an opportunity to share the Gospel, promote FCA Camps and provide top level lacrosse instruction. Motocross - Outreach Events Provide opportunities for local staff and volunteers to use motocross events in their area to share the Gospel and let the local motocross community know about FCA ministry in their community and schools.
