Welcome to the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) - Brisbane, Australia. Our state-of-the-art
convention centre is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD at the iconic Brisbane Showgrounds. The Royal ICC
offers world class facilities, on site accommodation at the new four star Rydges hotel, five star service and menus
featuring award-winning produce. Whether it’s an intimate event for 30 or a large conference with 3000 guests,
our professional in-house team offers customised services tailored for conferences, major events, exhibitions,
meetings, banquets and weddings within a unique, heritage inspired convention centre.
An exciting addition to the Royal ICC is the new four star Rydges
hotel, located directly across from the convention centre. The
contemporary Rydges hotel offers 208 rooms, the new Paddock
Bar and Six Acres restaurant along with a gym and swimming pool.
Royal ICC guests will now have the option of onsite accommodation.
Since opening in March 2013, the Royal ICC has hosted high
profile local and international guests including Her Royal Highness,
Princess Anne, Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger, iconic
entrepreneur Richard Branson and one of Queensland’s top food
critics, Des Houghton, who gave rave reviews.
The Royal ICC has fast gained a reputation for offering a personalised,
boutique event experience, with exceptional menus using award-winning
produce created by an internationally experienced team of chefs.
This boutique style convention centre features a unique blend of
original hardwood timbers and boasts an industrial heritage façade,

with contemporary architectural design providing warmth, character
and charm. Quite simply, the flexibility of the venue lends itself to
your imagination.
The 1,500sqm landscaped open Plaza forms the entrance into
this multi-level convention centre, which features three flexible
configuration exhibition/conference halls, seven meeting rooms,
two board rooms and 1,280m2 of foyer space. The Royal ICC is a
multipurpose venue capable of holding multiple catered events at
any one time.
The Royal ICC is the only convention facility in Australia able to
offer a range of outdoor facilities including the iconic Brisbane
Showgrounds Main Arena with grandstands capable of
accommodating 20,000 people plus other unique facilities including
The Marquee, a 5535m² permanent, all weather structure suitable
for exhibitions, events and concerts of all sizes.

New four star hotel
Award-winning food & beverage
The new four star Rydges hotel is located directly across from the Royal
ICC, along what will be Brisbane’s newest and most vibrant cafe strip King Street.
The Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) is the only
convention centre in Australia that can offer clients award-winning food
and wine carefully selected from some of the nation’s most prestigious
competitions.
The contemporary 208 room Rydges hotel adds another dimension
to events within the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, offering the new
Paddock Bar and Six Acres restaurant along with a gym and swimming
pool. The addition of the new Rydges hotel means Royal ICC guests will
now have the option of onsite accommodation.
Additionally, there is a variety of 3-5 star alternative accommodation
options located within close proximity to the Royal ICC.
Brisbane Showgrounds
Regeneration Project
The $2.9 billion, Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project is one
of the largest mixed-use, urban regeneration projects in Australia and
once completed will be the place where more than 15,000 people will
live, work and play.
This once in a lifetime legacy building project will ensure the
showgrounds become a world-class events and lifestyle precinct,
while at the same time preserving the site’s heritage for future
generations to enjoy. One of the key reasons for the 15 year, $2.9
billion Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project is to generate
year-round vitality throughout the precinct for use by the community
and ensures the Ekka will always continue on the site where it began.

Nowhere else can guests enjoy produce awarded gold, silver and bronze
medals in the prestigious Royal Queensland Food & Wine Show (RQFWS)
and the iconic Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).
The paddock to palate philosophy plays a starring role in the Royal ICC
menus, with food and wine sourced directly from the finest local producers
and entrants in the nation’s most prestigious food and wine competitions.
Some of the stars of the menu include the 2015 winner of Australia’s best
lamb, ‘Tasmanian Royal’, the award-winning JBS Australia ‘Swift Premium
Striploin’ from Western Queensland, grand champion cheese ‘Mil Lel
Superior Parmesan’ along with a selection of trophy winning wines and ice
creams.
From Mooloolaba King Prawns to vegetables from the Lockyer Valley, the
Royal ICC develops relationships with farmers, winemakers and small
producers to ensure we have access to the finest - from paddock to
palate.
Seasonality, locality and quality are the driving forces behind the Royal
ICC’s culinary philosophy.
Our unique connection to the RQFWS benefits our clients – the Royal

an independent contractor within Royal ICC, has a commitment to
technology that is second to none. They are the largest Australian
owned event staging company who employ more than 200 full time
staff. In 2015 they organised more than 7,000 events and serviced
more than 25 Venue Partners.

Microhire offer the latest in projection, sound and lighting equipment
specifically selected to suit the Royal ICC. Their impressive inventory
includes High Definition Digital Projectors, LCD and LED screens,
Flown Line Array Sound Systems, High Definition vision switching
equipment, leading edge digital audio consoles, 72 intelligent moving
light fixtures, broadcast and production quality microphone systems,
and a unique Speakers Prep Management System. Microhire offer
unrivalled venue expertise and are intimately familiar with the Royal
ICC’s function locations and our unique operable ceiling grid system.
Operable Ceiling Grid System
A unique structural feature within Royal ICC and an industry first of
its kind in Australia, the operable ceiling grid system offers some key
features which benefit our clients and their events:

36 operable grids each featuring 3 phase and 15 amp power and
is capable of carrying 2.4 tonne evenly distributed.
•
Grids are lowered by remote control, enabling timely installation of
technical equipment from a safe floor level work height.
•
Faster and easier hanging of banners and key event signage
minimising labour and plant hire.
