Brazier: a container for fire made of steel WaterFire Providence 40,000 people 2 million visitors October 25th As part of Brown’s 250th celebration, they are sponsoring a full lighting of WaterFire in downtown Providence. If you’ve never been, you need to go! There are 100 bonfires lit atop the three rivers that run through the capital city, and it’s a beautiful sight! Gondolas (like the one pictured above) float through the water and volunteers paddle by on canoes to rekindle the flames. Plus, there’s always music, craft tables, and food vendors to visit as you admire the city art! It’s a non-profit organization! The to Halloween Tricks & Treats Want to try something new and scary this Halloween? Check out these great options, from to Tours: Take a 1.5 hour walking tour through the haunted streets of the historic East Side of Providence. (Runs Daily) Slater Mill’s Ghost Hunts are paranormal investigations of what is considered to be one of the most haunted places in New England. In 2008, it was featured on the show “Ghost Hunters.” (Thursdays-Saturdays in Oct.) Haunted Corn Maze/Hayrides: until Nov 1st at Big Open Thursday-Sunday, 6:30-10pm John Leyden’s Tree Farm in West Greenwich, RI Open Friday-Sunday, Dusk-10pm until Oct 26th Located at Confreda’s Greenhouses and Farms in West Cranston The Slater Park Haunted Tunnel is broken down into two sections. A 200ft concrete tunnel is host to nine rooms, each themed around different fears. The attraction is also home to a large outdoor path including an industrial corn maze, Pumpkin patch, and Cemetery. Open Fri-Sat nights in October Traditional haunts and events: Celebrating 30 years as the longest running haunted house in New England! You can find it at the Rejoice in Hope Youth Center in Cranston, RI. It’s run entirely by adult and youth volunteers. Open Friday-Sunday,7-10pm Visit a display of 5,000 illuminated jack-o-lanterns at the Roger Williams Park and Zoo running nightly until Nov 2nd, 6-11pm Visit Cumberland’s haunted trails at night (Think haunted house in the woods).
