I am excited about serving as President for the Chamber of Commerce. I feel
both blessed and privileged to have lived in Fayette County my entire life and
now to have the opportunity to give something back to my community.
Serving on the Board of Directors for several years has given me the opportunity
to be involved with different businesses and tourism development. Stepping up
for committee work on membership, education and of course Bridge Day has been
an eye opening experience and one I wouldn’t trade for the world!
Fayette County has so much beauty with the New River and our mountains full
of trails and history. On weekends or long summer evenings, I enjoy walking
the trails and remembering stories from the past that bring a smile to my heart.
As a REALTOR, serving for 20+ years, I have seen the housing market grow
and then stabilize through a national crises.
I have great expectations for the future of Fayette County and look forward to

As the Executive Director of the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau,
I invite you to come and explore Fayette County, West Virginia. I transplanted
here 35 years ago as a professional educator, stayed and began my second career.
It’s an amazing place to live, work, shop, dine, stay, and play. And, don’t forget,
we have the New River Gorge Bridge here, too!

I am amazed as I look back over the past four years. The Chamber promotes
a vibrant climate for businesses to grow and is very involved in the community.
I feel compelled to mention a couple developments that the people of Fayette
County worked hard to achieve, the first of which was the Boy Scouts of America
National Jamboree and the second was the opening of the new, state of the art
Fayette County 911 Center. These are just a couple of great achievements that I
have had the honor to witness while in office. I will truly miss working with the
Fayette County Chamber Board of Directors and the people of this county.

Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts of America chose the New River Gorge
region as the home of it’s new 10,600+ acre facility that
will host all future National Jamborees as well as the
2019 World Scout Jamboree. Their cutting edge facility
of the Summit Bechtel National Scout Reserve and the
Paul R. Cristen High Adventure Base offer weekend and
extended adventure programming for members of the Boy
Scouts of America.
Opportunities for the scouting lifestyle extend beyond the
boarders of The Summit. Our county hosts a wide range
of professional outdoor guide services, many of whom are
qualified merit badge counselors, ready to lead your troop
on adventures of whitewater rafting, climbing, mountain
biking and much more. Start your adventure at The Summit, then enrich and extend it with the offerings of our
outdoor professionals and extensive public land access.

Festivals of the
New River Gorge
Work hard, play hard. It’s an idea we embrace in our region. On a few certain days, well, we play a little harder. Once a year we host West Virginia’s largest extreme
sports festival, Bridge Day (always the third Saturday in
October). Festival guests gather for the rare chance to
walk across the New River Gorge Bridge and enjoy the
fall colors, while others choose to BASE jump off it or
rappel from beneath it. Regardless of your level of adventure you’ll find something just for you at Bridge Day.
The months between are filled with other great opportunities to relax with family and friends, explore our heritage and culture, enjoy some music or browse local crafts.
Come spend some time with us at our festival and fairs in
