Weed Manufacturing Metrology Quality Weed's modern, highly efficient, 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility is uniquely equipped and staffed for the demanding requirements of Aerospace/Military products. Weed was originally founded to manufacture platinum wire wound RTD's. Only a few companies in the world retain the capability to successfully fabricate custom wire wound RTD's. We are well known in the industry for our ability to design and produce exceptionally rugged, high precision, custom elements. Our highly skilled and experienced Associates and our proprietary fabrication technologies allow us to solve application problems that baffle many of our competitors. RTD fabrication capabilities are enhanced by our state of the art Metrology Lab. Our modern computer controlled metrology capabilities are unique in our industry. We can provide certified NIST traceable sensor calibrations from -80C to 650C and any point in between. Our large suite of calibration baths and multiple SPRT's give us tremendous flexibility for simultaneous calibrations. We can also provide standard ASTM E644 method response time measurements using our proprietary response time bath. A series of focused work cells give us both flexibility and efficiency in production. We can handle repetitive manufacture and small lot processing with equal ease. Our computer based Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system coupled with creative use of simple KanBan principles provides rapid response and quick throughput. All production is driven and controlled by formal work orders detailing the work to be done and the applicable quality specifications. Close cooperation between Production operations and Quality operations insures that our customers receive high quality product on schedule. Weed's experienced and skilled engineering staff is available to develop the optimum solution to their measurement requirements. In addition, they are responsible for defining the production processes required to best meet the design intent and for following through the manufacturing process to make sure that the selected processes yield the desired results reliably and economically. For our customers with more complex product development or qualification requirements a project engineer will provide project management expertise for complete development of the sensor, sensor package, sensor interface and any necessary electronics. We actively promote this open standard for automated sensor information; analog sensor compatibility is needed for improved integration and interoperability of sensor-based measurement and automation systems.
