Fest 2016-16-17 VISITS Visit of eminent scientists to School – Under aegis of Himalayan Gram Vikas Samiti, Gangolihat, a Science Outreach programme held at this school on 21 May 2016. Eng.S.S.Valdiya, Deputy Director Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) VISIT OF PATRON AND INAUGURATION OF MULTILANGUAGE LAB Maj Gen R K Bhardwaj, COS, HQ UB Area, Patron, Gen B C Joshi APS, Pithoragarh visited Gen. B.C. Joshi APS Pithoragarh on 18/02/2016. He was briefed by the proposal regarding academic excellence and infrastructure development. On the same day the Patron also inaugurated Multi Language Lab comprising of 50 computers with English language software & hardware at Gen. B.C. Joshi APS Pithoragarh. 2 Visit of Eminent Scientists Visit of Eminent Scientists Visit of Eminent Scientists Inauguration of Multilanguage Lab Visit of School Patron 3 Teacher’s Workshop in Multilanguage Lab BOARD RESULTS-2015-16 AISSCE 2015-16 The CBSE class XII result declared on 21st May 2016. The School performed best among all the schools of the town. 127 students appeared in the Class XII Board Examination. The result of the school was 100% Eight (08) students scored more than 90% marks. 24 students secured percentage between 80 – 89.0%. Forty Eight (48) students, which is 38% of total students, scored more than 75% of marks. The API of the School is 157.48. The list of toppers is as under. The students were divided into two categories, Junior (Class VI-IX) and Senior (Class X and XI). The teacher In-Charge of the event was Mr. Harish Chandra Singh. The Race was started by the school principal Mr. Manish Panwar. The event referees were Mr. Vimal Bhandari (PGT PEd.) and Mt. Bhuwan Chandra Joshi (TGT, PEd.) The students were divided into three categories, Senior Boys (class X-XII), Junior Boys (class VI-IX) and Girls (class VI-XII). Cariappa House - 4th Position 8 INTER HOUSE CRICKET TOURNAMENT. 2016-17 The Inter-House Cricket Tournament was organized between 23rd May 2016 to 26th May 2016. The teacher In-Charge of the event was Mr. Rahul Parihar and the match referees were Mr. Vimal Bhandari (PGT PEd.) and Mt. Bhuwan Chandra Joshi (TGT, PEd.) In Junior category the first match was played between Bhagat House and Thimayya House. Thimayya house won the match. The second match was played between Cariappa House and the Manekshaw house. Manekshaw house defeated the Cariappa. The Final Match was played between Maneskhaw House and Thimayya House. Manekshaw House won the Inter-House Cricket tournament in Junior Category. In Junior category the first match was played between Manekshaw House and Thimayya House. Manekshaw house won the match. The second match was played between Cariappa House and the Bhagat house. Bhagat house defeated the Cariappa house. The Final Match was played between Maneskhaw House and Bhagat House. Bhagat House won the Inter-House Cricket tournament in Senior Category. Manekshaw House- 1st Position Bhagat House- 2nd Position Thimayya House- 3rd Position Cariappa House – 4th Position . 9 INTER HOUSE FOLK DANCE COMPETITION 2016-17 The Inter-House Folk Dance Competition was held on 7 May 2016. In Junior Category Manekshaw House performed Bihu, a folk dance of Assam. Cariappa house performed in a Tamil song, Bhagat in Begali and Thimayya sprayed the colours of Rajasthan. In Senior Category Manekshaw House demonstrated the folk and culture of Kumaun and Gadhwal, Bhagat danced in Bhangda, Cariappa performed Shiva Tandav and Thimayya performed Rajasthani Folk Dance. The students used props and made formations to mesmerize the audiences. Mrs. Sangeeta Panwar was the Teacher In-Charge of the event and Mr. Buwan Chandra Bhatt provided his assistance. Ms. Meenu Jagdish, Principal Jr. APS and Mr Sarita Kharkwal, Pricipal GAPPS judged the competition. The result of the compt. is as under. (Class Teacher: Mr. Lalit Mohan Tiwari) on 31st May 2016. General Knowledge questions, talk and a skit, conducted in the assembly to aware and sensitize students on the subject. World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on May 31. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe. The day is further intended to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to nearly 6 million deaths each year worldwide, including 600,000 of which are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.[1] The member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No Tobacco Day in 1987. In the past twenty years, the day has been met with both enthusiasm and resistance around the globe from governments, public health organizations, smokers, growers, and the tobacco industry. (Source: Wikipedia) STATE LEVEL BASKET BALL TOURNAMENT The Girls team of basket ball won the District level basket ball tournament, participated in State Level and stood third. The tournament was organized in Wisdom Global School, Haridwar, Uttarakhand between 23rd April-26th April.2016. The Team players were Mansi, Jyoti, nisha, Shalu, Taniya Snabu, Aarza, Priyanka, Arpita Sanjana, Kavita and Malika. The Team is performing great under the guidance of the basketball coach Mr. Bhuwan Joshi 11 NTER-CLASS ENGLISH ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION Inter Class Essay Writing Competition was organized on 23rd April for the classes VIXII. Competition proved to be successful as all the students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. They tried to pour out all their feelings and thought through essays in different topics. This competition helped the students to enhance their imagination, language , vocabulary and creativity. Students of Classes VI-X, XI (A) and XII (A) participated in the competition. Ms. Pratibha, Mr. Bhuwan Chandra Bhatt, Mr Balbir Singh, Mr. Chandra Shekhar Bhatt and Mr. Nagendra Shukla judged the essays. Mr. Nagendra Shukla was the Teaches InCharge of the event. B.C. Joshi planted trees. Students were also made aware about the need for the care of the Mother Earth and how we the humans are polluting the Environment. World Environment Day (WED) is observed every year on 5 June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). "World Environment Day (WED) is the United Nations’ most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries. World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 on the first day of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment. It was started to create global awareness about the condition of the Environment (Source: Wikipedia) 14 INTER HOUSE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT. 2016-17 The Inter House Volleyball Tournament was conducted in the first week of June 2016 in two categories, Juniors and Seniors. In Junior category Manekhsaw House was the winner and in Seniors Bhagat House defeated the Thimayya House to stood first. Mr. P.K. Mishra was the teacher in-charge of the event. The matches were played in Indoor Games Complex. The results of the events are as under. B. C. Joshi APS Pithoragarh organized the Annual English Literary Fest which was another success story. The events were organized by English Department. Mr. Sanjeev Masih was the event In-charge. The Fest was organized for two days 13 June and 14 June 2016. On day one school principals and teachers of schools of the town visited the fest and school.
