DEBRIEFING – EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT
Safety:
What safety issues were not identified and could be managed more effectively?
- Length of rope
- Heater was not checked prior to exercise – was not able to be used to warm people up
- Backhoe outrigger broke through ice at water’s edge
- Exercise training sign was knocked over on the highway
Equipment Deployment:
How could we have improved the equipment deployment portion of the exercise?
- No improvements necessary
Equipment Deficiencies:
What equipment deficiencies did you see?
- The people on lead ropes should have 170’ of rope attached to a reel which is tied
down – this would avoid multiple connectors

- No improvements necessary
Training Effectiveness/Exercise Improvement:
How can we make these exercises more effective?
- Exercises are effective as they are
Lessons Learned:

- Ice safety
- Ice thickness (white vs. blue)
Other Types of Training:
What other types of co-op exercises would you like to see?
- Truck rollover
- River exercise with airboat
Other Equipment Needed in this Area:
What additional equipment would be beneficial to this co-op area?
