What’s new?
In our new production sites, high tech and a
previously unmatched precision have entered the
manufacturing process. We are also setting standards for
the quality of craftsmanship involved in guitar-making in
general.
Decades of experience, ideas and suggestions from
guitarists and guitar-makers from all over the world are an
integral part in the development and making of Crafter
guitars. Numerous international patents under-score the
innovation and forward-thinking creativity of our team.
Our ongoing efforts to satisfy the needs of guitar players
can be seen in the creation of new instruments such as the
travel guitar, the integration of countless innovations and
refinements to our current series, and our continuous efforts
to optimize feel, play-ability and string action.

Guitars bearing the Crafter logo have
always been distinguished instruments with their own unique
personality - not only in terms of sound.
Beautiful woods and the great care taken in the production of each
individual instrument ensure that they also look great! Innovations
like the novel bridge design, the newer, finer varnish as well as
new measurements, sizes and shapes not only create a unique
look, they are also a major factor in giving each instrument it’s

Craftsmanship & Character
Advanced high-tech
machinery is used where top-precision and detailed work is
required or where manual work would be too time-consuming.
But it takes more than machinery to make a guitar.
The virtues of traditional craftsmanship still play a major role in
the making of a Crafter guitar. The large amount of manual
craftsmanship that goes into its making turns every single
Crafter guitar into a truly unique instrument.
Woods & Sound
The woods used in the making of an
instrument are not only the basis for its sound and look, they
also provide its soul.
And because the quality of a Crafter guitar is not a matter of
chance, no compromises are made in the choice and treatment
of the instrument’s basic material. From selection to
storage and then to production the greatest care is taken to
ensure that the wood is in perfect condition as it becomes part
of a quality instrument.
At the heart of a great sounding acoustic guitar is carefully
selected wood for the top and for this Crafter use Engelmann
spruce, Sitka spruce, German Alpine spruce or Canadian cedar
to ensure the best possible tone.

Another Crafter innovation is our new bridge pin which
incorporates a raised collar just below the head of the
bridge pin. As the pins are inserted they are stopped at
the bridge by the collar so that exactly the same amount
of each pin is left exposed. A very "neat" solution and,
equally important, a practical one too. The collar stops
the pin from being forced in to the point where it binds,
and just the right amount of pin is left exposed making it
easy to grip. So removing the pin is quick and hassle free.

While analyzing historic
steelstring acoustic guitars, we fell
in love with the slotted peghead
design often used in historic guitars.
Influenced by the design of the
classical guitar, the first steel-string
acoustics were also built with a slotted
peghead. Our TA and TR models represent
the look, design and vintage feel of those guitars.
The T-series instruments are also outstanding
instruments in terms of sound; custom-made for the
ambitious guitarist.
