- Existence of Young Agropreneur Unit
(UAM) under the MOA and
Agropreneur Youth Consultative
Council (PAM) (effective September
2013)
- An aspiration Minister of Agriculture
and Agro-Based Industry
- MARDI - KP Dato initiative to create
programs for young agropreneur
MARDI - Promotion and Technology

- Desire to achieve the KPI that has
been set by the MOA
NATIONAL ISSUE

population of the country
12.5 million young people only 14% are involved in
agriculture.

VISION
To create a Young Agropreneur of a progressive,
competitive, creative, innovative and high-income
MISSION
Agriculture as a modern and dynamic sector and a
promising career option to young people of high income
OBJECTIVE
To attract youths under the age of 40 to join the
agriculture sectors.
To change perceptions of the youth to agriculture as a
viable industry
To develop young agropreneur and increase the number of
young agropreneur in the agricultural sector to meet the
requirements of National Agrofood Policy.
To make agricultural industry as a sector that can
generate high income.

Utilisation of idle land in MARDI
1. The agriculture land use in MARDI area was influenced by the
implementation of policies that give priority to R&D project.
2. In which, priority of MARDI activities - transform agriculture
through R&D to create a new innovative findings.
3. Nevertheless, in some cases, the young entrepreneur - allow to
use MARDI land. But they have to :

CONCLUSION
1. The success of the project is not only measured in
production capacity but also the ability to attract the
young entrepreneur towards efficient modern agricultural
technologies (model farm) that provided high value to the
agricultural practices.
2. This is a new approach of the MARDI in helping the
young especially to be a successful entrepreneurs by
provided a land and appropriate technology.
3. Furthermore, to increase the percentage of young people
to be participating in agriculture industry.
4. The implementation of the effort will fulfil the MARDI to
develop and enhance the well-being of the young
entrepreneurs.
