at the Harold Washington Library Center, 400

Veterans Day At
Brookfield Zoo
The Chicago Zoological Society invites the
public to a special
Veterans Day ceremony
at Brookfield Zoo on
Friday, Nov. 11th at 1
p.m. Free general zoo
admission will be offered
that day to all guests
(parking and special
exhibit fees will still
apply).
The ceremony, which
will take place just south
of Roosevelt Fountain,
will begin with a presentation by the Color Guard
from Rickover Naval
Academy, followed by the
National Anthem performed by The Arlingtones as well as the placing of a memorial wreath
at the fountain.
Gleen Granat, a curator for the Chicago
Zoological Society as well
as a U.S. Army veteran,
will give talk entitled, “A
Retrospective of the U.S.
Military - The Revolution
Through Present.”
A red-tailed hawk will
make an appearance for
a special Zoo Chat at the
