CHAMBER HISTORY
Since 1947, the Northern Anne Arundel
County Chamber of Commerce has been
an advocate for local businesses. In our
early history, the Chamber worked with
elected officials and community leaders
to get paved roadways, more downtown
parking, and improved sanitation
conditions. Chamber meetings in the 1940s and 50s even included reports from the Civil
Air Patrol and the National Guard.
We have come a long way from those early days, but some things never change. We
still work with elected officials and community leaders to make Northern Anne Arundel
County the best place to live and work. And we agree with County Executive Steve Schuh
that Anne Arundel County is also the best place to start a new business or expand an
existing business.
That is why we are so passionate about welcoming new and expanding businesses to our
community. It is our pleasure to host Ribbon Cutting ceremonies and Meet & Greets with
local officials and business and community leaders.
We want local businesses to know that we are grateful for the contributions they are
making to our economy. We also want them to use the Chamber as a support system. We
host a variety of events that include business education and business connections.
But the most important aspect we bring to all our events is the personal touch of our
Chamber staff, our Board of Directors, and our members themselves. NAACCC members
really do like to reach out and touch somebody. At all our events, you will see a lot of
handshakes and hugs, but you will never see our Board members sitting by themselves.
We are not an elitist organization. NAACCC members are your neighbors and friends who
deal with the same issues facing small businesses and families everywhere.
Everyone at the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is proud of our
past and confident that we will continue to strengthen local businesses in the future.

WHAT IS A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
A chamber of commerce is a federation of business, industrial and professional firms and interested
individuals working together to enhance the economic and socioeconomic health of their community.
It is a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation of voluntary membership that
invests time and money to carry forward programs relevant to members’
needs and that affect the orderly growth and development of the community.
It is the catalytic agency that brings together all of the forces, both public
and private, through which common goals can be resolved.
The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to
