It’s almost Welcome Back…..a week from now, we will be into our first week of the 2015-16
school year! I have to say that I am excited to embark upon the new adventures this year will
bring. Our two newest faculty members, Miss Ebeling and Miss Dawson, seem to be settling in
well. Everyone has been in throughout the month, busy preparing their rooms for the next
group of kids. We have new students to meet as well! There are some important issues and
dates to make you aware of before we begin:
 GOLF OUTING: Don’t forget to register your foursome for the 5th annual St. Dennis
Cardinal Golf Classic and Dinner to be held on Saturday, September 12 at Broken Arrow.
You can join us for the afternoon of golf and dinner, or just stop by for dinner. Either
way, this is a fun event and all proceeds go into our operating budget. Registration
forms can be found in today’s e-folder – registration deadline is August 31.
 FAMILY HOURS OPPORTUNITIES:
o GIFT WRAP: We are still in need of a parent to be the coordinator of the annual
Gift Wrap drive. This activity is a tuition-reduction opportunity for our families.
If you are interested, contact the school office and we will put you in touch with
Kari Aiello.
o KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE (weekend of September 18/19):
Here is a terrific opportunity for you and your family to help our Knights of
Columbus council; you support the school and the parish at the same time! Last
year, the Knights donated a large sum of money to our school, and that gift
helped us purchase a reading intervention system for our struggling readers. I
encourage our families to support the Knights whenever we can! Contact Harold
Kern at 815-834-9221 to sign up. You will receive Family Hours for this event.
o GOLF OUTING: We still need a few volunteers to help run the Golf Outing. Go to
our Volunteer Spot in the school website to sign up. Your help is appreciated!
 INTERNET SAFETY with DET. WISTOCKI: We are pleased to welcome Detective Rich
Wistocki back for a helpful Internet Safety program on September 2, 2015 at 7:00PM in
Fracaro Hall. This presentation is appropriate for adults and students grades 5 th through
8th. If your child is electronically connected to the world, you can’t afford to miss this
presentation.
 MEET THE TEACHERS NIGHT: Our annual Meet the Teachers (Curriculum) night will be
Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00PM in the Gym. I urge you to join us; we work very
hard to present important general information in the first half of the program.
 PTC FUN FAIR: PTC wants to help start the year off with FUN, so the Fun Fair will be
September 20! Save the date, and watch for more details to come.
 NEWEST “FACULTY” BABY HAS ARRIVED! Congratulations to our former 4th grade
teacher, Mrs. Susie Dolci, and her family upon the blessed arrival of James David! Born
August 17, he weighs in at a healthy 8lbs 14oz. Mom and James are doing well.

Fundamentals of volleyball including serving, passing and setting
will be provided for new players. Experienced players will be
refreshed on the basics and then be working on attacking,
footwork, blocking, and defense.
Please have players wear supportive gym shoes, t-shirt & shorts,
kneepads & bring water bottle.
