Assessment of electrical systems in telecommunications stations CENTENNIAL, 2006, PUERTO RICO Inspection, diagnosis and evaluation of power generation, transformation and distribution systems in telecommunications stations, to ensure the continuous operation of the telecommunications system. 8 PANAMA Basic and detailed engineering of mission-critical systems in 35 cell sites of the cellular system HUAWEI PANAMÁ, 2008, PANAMA Engineering designed for Claro Panama, company owned by América Móvil, a business group recognized worldwide, with representatives in 19 countries and over 267 million customers. In Panama, Claro has the country’s biggest 3.5G network, and offers optimum quality voice and data transmission as well as world-level cutting-edge products. TIER III data center design EVB DATA, 2013, PANAMA Detailed engineering for the construction of a data center with TIER III reliability level and cutting-edge architecture assess • 8 data rooms with modular expansion • 432 server racks with 12 kW/rack capacity • Redundant capacity and concurrent maintenance components. Engineering certified by the Uptime Institute as ¨Tier Certification of Design Documents¨ for a TIER III topology Infrastructure and Technological Services company, created to cover the need for storage and processing of operational and strategic information, in companies including mission-critical processes. 9 PANAMA Assessment for energy efficiency optimization in Cable Onda’s data center CABLE ONDA, 2014, PANAMA Inspection, study and diagnosis of the current situation in the Telecarrier data center, owned by Cable Onda, which has a white space of approximately 1400 m2 distributed in 3 rooms, from which mission-critical services are provided for government, banking and commercial customers. The premise of our recommendations was the continuous operation of the data center and risks mitigation. By 1998, Impsat Corp was billing 160 million dollars a year, and was present in 17 countries. Currently, it is a part of Level 3. 12 COSTA RICA Consulting service for the design of back-up CORPOELEC data center INGENIUM, 2013, COSTA RICA Revision of drawings in stages of schematic and construction design for every area or discipline (Telecommunications, Automation, Safety, Electricity, Fire system, Mechanics, Plumbing) involved in the data center, developed by INGENIUM, in order to adjust the design parameters according to the regulations and standards established in Venezuela. Construction of EDS-operated data center GENERAL MOTORS VENEZUELA, 1994, VENEZUELA Turn key project for the main data center of Venezuela’s pioneer assembly company, located in Valencia, which by 1994 was importing to the Andean Trade Pact member countries. 17 VENEZUELA Data center construction and wire rooms adaptation INTESA, VENEZUELA Turn key project for the construction of the main data center and 22 wire rooms for Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) La Salina and Bajo Grande through INTESA, an information technology company in partnership with PDVSA since 1996. Preventive and corrective maintenance management of voice and data networks CONSEJO DE LA JUDICATURA, 2000, VENEZUELA Contract to ensure the sustainable operation of voice and data networks through the proper management and planning of corrective and preventive maintenance at a national level and in the main office, with a deferred maintenance objective of 0%. 18 VENEZUELA Data centers construction ADRIÁTICA DE SEGUROS, 2001, VENEZUELA Design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the data center in the main office of the insurance company in Caracas, ensuring its continuity and safety through the following aspects: • • • • • Cooling systems Back-up energy systems CCTV and access control system Structured wiring Grounding system Project for the supply and installation of equipment for DIGITEL’s NOC HEWLLETT-PACKARD DE VENEZUELA, 2001, VENEZUELA Adaptation of the network operations center, designed to operate continuously during 24 hours, 365 days a year. This room is essential since it supports fundamental areas of the customers’ operations. The NOC was built in Caracas, in the BANAVEN center and it included telecommunications infrastructure solutions, specialized energy and cooling systems, which respected the highest levels of quality required in order to guarantee the continuous operation of Venezuela’s third telecommunications company. 19 VENEZUELA Remodeling and adaptation of telecommunications room SIDERÚRGICA DEL ORINOCO, 2004, VENEZUELA This room consolidates SIDOR’s network connectivity, the building’s control systems, and distributes them to predetermined areas of the company as a convergence point. SIDOR, a company for the production of steel with direct reduction technologies and electric arc furnaces, is a part of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG), a technological partner of Instaelectric since 1989. Adaptation of main office data center for P&G Venezuela PROCTER & GAMBLE, VENEZUELA It includes structured wiring for the phone and computer network in the new Sorokaima office. P&G is a multinational company, manufacturer of personal care, cleaning, detergent and medical products, among others. 20 VENEZUELA Main office data center construction BANCO MERCANTIL, VENEZUELA Project created for the design of the bank’s main office data center and the supply and installation of the structured wiring network with fiber optic. Venezuela’'s second most important bank. By the end of 2007, it had 321 agencies, 313 of which were located in Venezuela. Main office and data center power plant installation TOVENCA TOPFLIGHT DE VENEZUELA, 2010, VENEZUELA Installation of a 750 kW back-up power plant, feeder lines to data center, distribution panels, Diesel tank with 48 hours reserve. TOVENCA has a trajectory of over 30 years in the manufacture of high quality and technology labels and self-adhesive materials. 23 VENEZUELA Main data center energy audit BANESCO BANCO UNIVERSAL, 2010, VENEZUELA Inspection, diagnosis and evaluation of the power generation, transformation and distribution systems associated to the main data center of Ciudad Banesco located in Caracas, encompassing the physical support infrastructure, power, mechanical and telecommunications system of the 529 m2 Ciudad Banesco data center, which includes the following: Three 12.47kV/480V sub-stations, with nominal transformation capacities of 2000 kVA, 2000 kVA and 1250 kVA Generation and co-generation system with a 4000 kVA installed capacity •UPS systems with a 925 kVA installed capacity Heat analysis of the data center, installed capacity survey of the precision cooling system and heat load evaluation. BANESCO is Venezuela’s biggest banking group, with 473 agencies in the country and a 14% share of the market. 24 VENEZUELA Energy audit of Bancaribe’s main office BANCARIBE, 2010, VENEZUELA Diagnosis of the current state of BANCARIBE’s electrical installations, specifically at the power sub-station level, back-up energy system, UPS and power plant. Survey and inspection of the current state of said systems and their measurement, control and protection components, aimed at verifying their proper operation and the compliance with the established regulations of the national electric code, regarding energy quality, conditions and vulnerability of installations. Additionally, the weak spots directly affecting the continuity of the bank’s operations were analyzed, as to recommend the necessary corrections to be made in order to safeguard BANCARIBE’s electrical system. 26 VENEZUELA TIER II data center design for CANTV HUAWEI, 2011, VENEZUELA Detailed engineering for the construction of the 170 m2-CANTV data center. The work was based on designs, calculations, technical specifications, descriptive memories, cost estimation, plant drawings, and details regarding the following: • Electrical system for powering 48 high-density racks, (2) 500 kVA UPS • Air conditioning system of (16) in row precision units, under the cold aisle containment scheme • Fire detection and extinction system using FM200 • Horizontal structured wiring system • Grounding system design for the exclusive use of the data center Back-up data center risk analysis BANCO NACIONAL DE CRÉDITO (BNC), 2012, VENEZUELA A study of the risks associated to the BNC’s back-up data center location was performed, and it was compared to the current location of the main data center. The possibility that both centers might be affected by the same contingency was evaluated, in order to have a thorough analysis that fulfills the request made by the Venezuelan Superintendence of Banks (SUDEBAN). 27 VENEZUELA Risk analysis of possible locations for the main and back-up data centers BANCO FONDO COMÚN (BFC), 2012, VENEZUELA Four possible locations for the back-up data center were evaluated; they were compared with the main data center in order to define the location in the interior regions of the country with the lowest level of risk in case of a natural or man-made catastrophe. The Uptime Institute standards on data center operational sustainability were respected, and the risk and impact levels were verified for each section establishing a mitigation mechanism. Risk analysis and inspection of back-up data center MULTINACIONAL DE SEGUROS, 2012, VENEZUELA The analysis and insp ection were carried out in the city of Puerto Ordaz and included the following: Physical conditions (spaces, dimensions, pipe inlets, stair and elevator access, etc.) • Mechanical conditions of the existing equipment to detect signs of inefficiency or damage, capacities and assembly. • Electrical connections of existing equipment • Location of existing equipment • Infrastructure construction characteristics Multinacional de Seguros is one of the biggest insurance companies in Venezuela, with 54 branches in the country. 29 VENEZUELA Construction of main data center BANCO FONDO COMÚN (BFC), 2012-2013, VENEZUELA Engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the main data center with reliability and availability criteria for a TIER II level according to the Uptime Institute. Project finalized under the PMI standards. • 70 m2 servers’ area • 100 kVA critical load • Redundancy in uninterrupted power systems (UPS) • Cooling system of 60 TR installed in n+1 configuration • Reliable communications • Fire system • Safety control systems for the center BFC is the tenth biggest Venezuelan bank, with approximately 165 agencies in the country. Structured wiring project for back-up data center CITIBANK, 2013, VENEZUELA Supply, installation, certification and identification of UTP wiring 6A category, according to EIA/TIA-606-A standard and Citibank internal regulations, for the back-up data center located in Valencia, Carabobo state, Venezuela. 30 VENEZUELA Schematic engineering developed for the certification of a TIER III data center by the Uptime Institute Amagi iCloud, 2013, VENEZUELA • • • • Unique White Space of 115 m2 in servers’ area. 40 server racks with a 4 kW/rack capacity (160 kW of critical load) Modular scalable UPS system. Concurrent maintenance in capacity equipments and distribution routes. Amagi iCloud was created for the need to provide its customers with cloud computing mission-critical services, contributing to optimize their services and avoid risks in operational continuity. AMAGI is a company that provides value to its customers through Information Technology, consulting, outsourcing and cloud computing services, responding to clients in all areas of the Venezuelan industry as well as other Spanish-speaking countries. 32 WUE
