Easyfly Piccofly Game Comander 0203
Easyfly/PiccoFly R/C Simulator (interface cable version) System requirements 100% Intel-Pentium-compatible processor with at least 233Mhz (optimum pentium II 300 or AMD K6-300 or better), 32MB RAM (optimum 64MB), 20MB free hard disc memory, CD-ROM drive, Open GL-ICD-compatible graphic card with at least 8MB (optimum 16MB or more). 100% directX compatible sound card, a free sevial port (COM port) if you purchase the interfaceversion and a trainer output on your transmitter, Windows 95, 98, ME/2000 with directX version 7.0 or higher. Make sure your computer matches the following system requirements before running easyFly. Using easyFly/PiccoFly on a slower machine than recommended will result in a non realistic simulation. During gameplay you can press the F12 key which will display the frames per second (fps). Make sure this number is always greater than 25. Instructions to the graphics card Please note that the 3D graphics card is the most important component for a smooth operation of easyFly/PiccoFly. About 70-90% of all calculations are done on the graphic card. A fast processor will therefore not be of much help without the appropriate graphics card. Online manual On the cd in subdirectory \ manual \ easyFly/PiccoFly\ english\ a detailed manual in html format can be found. A html browser is required to read the online manual, e.g. Netscape Navigator. IKARUS wishes you happy R/C flying. Neue IKARUS Adresse! See appendix of installation guide) Installation EasyFly/Piccofly uses the auto-start feature of Windows 95/98 for automatically starting the installation software. Just put the easyFly/Piccofly CD into your CDROM drive. Installation will then start automatically and the startup screen of the setup program appears. Here you can choose the installation language of easyFly/Piccofly. Please note, that this is only the language for installation. If you deactivated the auto start feature in the Windows 95/98 setup or you have already installed an easyFly/PiccoFly version, installation will not start automatically. In this case the installation program "Setup.exe", which can be found in the main directory of the CD-ROM, has to be started manually. To do so double click on the Windows 95/98 “Desktop" and then with a right mouse click on the symbol for your CD-ROM drive (the small airplane symbol). A short menu appears, where you choose the item "Open". After that a window with the content of the main directory of the easyFly/PiccoFly CD opens up. Double click on the program "Setup.exe" which starts the installation. Installation of DirectX and why easyFly/ PiccoFly needs it Before you can start easyFly/PiccoFly, DirectX version 7.0 or higher has to be installed on your computer. DirectX was developed by Microsoft, so that games under Windows can directly access the hardware. EasyFly/PiccoFly needs DirectX for sound output and for joystick input. If DirectX is not installed on your computer yet, you can find DirectX Version 7 on the easyFly/PiccoFly CD. 3 Calibrating the Game Commander step by step Win95/98 To use game-commander in the simulator, you first have to calibrate it. Please go according the following instructions to calibrate in Windows-system. Preparation: Plug in the 15pol-connector of the game-commander onto the 15-pol-jack of your computer. The connector has to be plugged in to the endstop of the sheet-mental of the game-card. If your computer has two of such a connector, you have to deactivate one of it, because your computer can only support one gameport. 1 ) In“Start”,Adjustments”,“SystemControl”/”Ga mecontroller” click on “Add...”. Delete other controller under Start/Adjustments/System Control/Game Controller (these can be added again every time by input of the name without new calibration). 2) Now click on ,,Custom” 3) Now select “4 Axes” and “1 Button” and attach a name. Then click on “ok” 5 4) Now the new controller appears and the status changes to “ok”. If not delete all other controllers. Mode 2 to mode 1 conversion The following procedure details the conversion from mode 1 to mode 2, i.e. the changeover of the throttle ratchet from the right stick unit (A) to the left stick unit (B). In addition, you will need to move the control arm moulding from the right hand to the left hand stick unit. A phillips screwdriver, some Sellotape and a pair of fine nose pliers are all you require. 1 Die umzubauenden Teile/ parts to be moved Rückstellhebel/ control arm moulding Rastfeder/ throttle ratched plate Spannhebel/ Spring retainer Rückstellfeder/ spring Spannschraube/ retainer screw Lösen Sie die 4 Schrauben an der Gehäuseunterseite und entfernen Sie den Gehäuseboden. Nevertheless, in case of complaints your warranty claims will be handled in accordance with our current General Sales Conditions. If equipment returned for warranty repair shows full functionality during the entry inspection, handling charge will be DM40,-. According to our experience the product works well with all current R/C systems. On the other hand we cannot grant functionality with a specific R/C system due to the fact that control pulse conditions of receivers are not liable to standardization. We must as well reject any responsibility for consequential damage arisen from the use of our products since we are not able to supervise their appropriate application. Starting EasyFly or PiccoFly Put the EasyFly or PiccoFly CD into your CDROM drive. To start EasyFly or PiccoFly, first choose 'Programs' in the start menu of Windows and then ‘EasyFly’or PiccoFly. Now select one of the following options: EasyFly or PiccoFly Use this option to startEasyFly or PiccoFly for all standard 3D graphic cards and for Voodoo3 cards and above. EasyFly or PiccoFly (3d addon cards with Voodoo2 only): Choose this option only, when using a 3D addon card from 3dfx with a Voodoo2 chip. Do not use this option with Voodoo 3 After starting the simulation the initial screen appears: Start der Simulation Start of simulation Wahl der Auflösung Selection of screen resolution Start der Simulation Start of simulation Wahl der Steuerung und Kalibration Input device selection and calibration Programm beenden Program termination Modellauswahl Model selection Wahl der Steuerung und Kalibration Input device selection and calibration Wahl der Auflösung Selection of screen resolution Programm beenden Program termination Selecting the screen resolution Click on the tool symbol to select the desired screen resolution, e.g. 800*600 pixels and click on OK to accept. Selecting the input device Click on the R/C transmitter symbol in the initial screen to select the input device. Select RADIO and TRANSMITTER as your input device. Try both comports. Temporarily disable or completely remove device drivers for e.g. modems or docking stations etc. which could still be active and block the comports. 17 Calibrating the input device Before you can take-off for the first time, you will have to calibrate your input device and assign the channels to the different controls of your aircraft. Make sure the interface cable is properly connected to a serial port of your PC and the trainer jack of your transmitter. When you move the sticks of your input device, you should see a movement of the red bars. Press Calibrate in the input device selection menu and follow the instructions on the screen. When finished, all bars should be at the center mark when the sticks of your input device are centered. Channel assign Move each stick and check the corresponding bar movement, select the function you want to control with this stick by activating the radio button in the same row. If you have to invert a channel, you can return later to this dialog and simply check the corresponding checkbox. Press Ok to save these settings and to return to the main screen.
