It is welded with invisible joints for the creation of continuous seamless surfaces. Any scratches can be removed with standard abrasive cleaning products and pads. It is translucent, especially when the slab is thin and light in colour; the Illumination series (five colours of slab measuring between 6 and 12 mm) produce particularly luminous special effects. It is crafted using standard woodworking equipment. Colours and finishes Over 90 shades are available. Countertops come in over 60 colours. HI-MACS® Created and manufactured by LG Hausys, solid surface Hi-Macs® is a natural acrylic stone that can be produced in any shape. It is made of acrylic resin, natural minerals and pigments which together create a smooth, non-porous and seamless surface. It is used for interior design schemes and architectural projects with sculptural features. Applications include frontages, claddings, kitchens, bathrooms and furnishing surfaces in shopping complexes and other public and private spaces. ADVANTAGES Worked using a 3D thermoplastic moulding process, it produces perfectly imperceptible joints; certain shades of the material display a special translucent quality in the presence of light; it is as sturdy as stone but as workable as wood, so it can be cut, chamfered, perforated and polished. It does not absorb humidity and is particularly stainproof and easy to clean, maintain and repair. It carries ETA (European Technical Approval) certification for outdoor fronts in the colour Alpine White S728, NTE™ antibacterial nanoceramic; glass; heat-treated oak. Colours Over 100 colours; the Sparkle Collection was created by Karim Rashid. TECHNICAL FACTSHEETS 25 MARMO ARREDO In response to a growing demand for personalisation, Marmo Arredo has come up with a range of different solutions that are the result of advanced technological research and an in-depth knowledge of the materials it works with. They include the internationally patented Invisible Line® worktop, with which the firm offers a product that can be worked into continuous surfaces measuring over three metres in length, with no visible joins. Another new product is the fully hideaway sink the firm has developed in collaboration with Schock®, the world’s leading manufacturer of quartz sinks. The sink is interesting for the manufacturing process that allows it to integrate perfectly into the quartz top, thus achieving a level of quality (thanks to a barely perceptible join) which until now could only be achieved with solid surface sinks and worktops. Textured Stone, on the other hand, is a finish aimed at anyone wishing to achieve a more striking decorative effect, offering as it does the chance to imprint any design, image or graphic effect onto any surface, including particularly big areas (140x305 cm). The personalised finish interacts with the texture of the material, combining with the special grain and veining of Quartzforms®. LAPITEC® Lapitec ® is a “full-body” sintered stone designed and manufactured entirely in Italy. It combines the potential of ceramic with the consistency and typical surface finishes of natural stone. It comes in slabs of 150x340 cm, with uniform thicknesses of 12, 20 and 30 mm, and is made from selected ceramic materials, processed using exclusive technology, machinery production plants and know-how developed by Breton SpA. ADVANTAGES The specific weight of 2.4 kg/dm3 makes Lapitec ® the lightest cladding product available that offers such excellent mechanical properties; it comes in a choice of plain colours or with veining in a range of surface finishes. It is an “eternal” product, well able to withstand the effects time and weather, resistant to acids, bases and solvents, hard wearing, impact resistant, non-flammable, thaw and frost resistant and insensitive to UV rays. Its surfaces are non-porous so do not absorb moisture and are also stainfree, hygienic, easy to clean, and bacteria- and mouldrepellent. Colours and finishes The product comes in over 48 chromatic/aesthetic solutions subdivided into four collections: Vesuvio, Lux, Satin and Fossil. ambientecucina project ILEXA® The innovative Bio collection comprises hi-tech quartz work surfaces made using natural resins. The resins on the new range come from renewable plant sources, namely cashew husks, approved by Italy’s environmental protection agency Legambiente. The various plain or natural stone-effect finishes have considerable aesthetic appeal. ADVANTAGES The surfaces of the Bio collection are highly transparent, thus letting the full depth of the veining show through. Like all Ilexa® -brand quartz surfaces they are extremely tough and stable, as well as being resistant to heat, impact and scratching, and because they are non-porous they are also particularly resistant to acids, oils and other liquids. Ilexa® products carry a fifteen-year guarantee. Colours and finishes Botticino, Carrara, Noce, Imperial, Portoro and Perlino. TECHNICAL FACTSHEETS 26 NEOLITH A brand created by the Spanish company TheSize, Neolith offers a series of compact sintered surfaces made up of various raw materials – clay, feldspar, silica and natural mineral oxides – for the production of kitchen and bathroom shelves, floors, indoor walls and outdoor façades. Neolith now also includes new decorations in stone, wood and metal embellished with prints featuring Neolith digital motifs, and with 14 full-body colours ranging from light yellow, green and blue, to stone-inspired dark browns and greys. The collections include: Classtone, which offers sophisticated marble-effect motifs and a high-performance material; and Iron (with the new Iron Blue and Iron Ash products), which add to the motifs of the oxide collection. ADVANTAGES Neolith has virtual zero porosity and is therefore a hygienic, stainproof product that is easy to clean as well as being resistant to chemical attack. It stands up particularly well to wear, scratching and heat and its colours are not sensitive to UV rays. It is lightweight and easy to install, making it perfect for any indoor or outdoor application. Colours and finishes The Neolith range comprises 35 colours for six product lines, as well as 45 different decorations. ambientecucina project PORTLAND Produced by the firm Report, Portland is an exclusive cement finish that can be used to give a new identity to worktops and fronts. Developed specifically to give more character to surfaces, it is created using what is practically an artisanal procedure. The cement finish is applied by hand by means of a spatula on any surface, with a thickness that varies from 0.7 to 0.9 mm, depending on the number of layers that are applied. The photo shows an application on Cesar’s Cloe kitchen. ADVANTAGES The Portland collection is produced using a form of plaster with high techno-plastic properties. Thanks to the special technique used, the cement surface exclusive texture that produces a different, exclusive textural effect each time. Colours and finishes Available in various shades. It is particularly suitable for the cabinet fronts and worktops of kitchens and for other furnishing complements. indicata per le ante e i top dei mobili cucina e per i complementi d’arredo. FENIX NTM® The result of research done by Arpa Industriale, Fenix Ntm® is a revolutionary type of laminate, whose outer surface is created with the help of nanotechnology and is characterised by a decorative surface treated with new-generation thermo-plastic resins, which makes the surface extremely compact. CONTEMPORA FACTORY The Factory mood reinterprets Aster’s Contempora system, transforming it into an advanced design project. Contempora Factory thus becomes the expression of an industrial and metropolitan mood, a solution with considerable appeal that translates into the use of hi-tech and natural materials, treated to give them a timeworn look. ADVANTAGES The special materials chosen have “eco” qualities, for example timber sourced from planks that have aged for 300 years and are naturally seasoned (having been exposed to weathering)), and then treated with natural primers; iron sheets and Corten, finished with primers and natural varnishes. Fronts – available finishes 414 surface types in iron, including Corten; four types of aged wood; slate; wired glass; matt lacquerwork in a choice of five colours. Top - available finishes Two types of natural stone. TECHNICAL FACTSHEETS 27 ICONCRETE Developed by Ernestomeda, Iconcrete is a synthetic material that may safely come into contact with food and designed for the worktops of Ernestomeda’s kitchen collections. The finish available in the only version available (i.e. cement effect), looks and feels warm, is elegant and discreet and aesthetically neutral. On the Icon model (pictured), and on the One model, it is used to define the work areas, into which the hobs and sinks are fitted. ADVANTAGES Iconcrete can be personalised in terms of its thickness. In one of the solutions created for the One model, the top comes in two thicknesses: 22 cm, for the washing area, and 20 cm, for the cooking area. It is resistant to scratching, chemical attack, absorption of liquids and heat. Colours and finishes Grey cement effect. KRONOSYSTEM The firm presents its new patented acrylic kitchen fronts with 30° fingergrip edge. Completely integrated into the front, the profile (post-formed with an angle of 30°) offers a more gentle inclination than the 45° version, which is still in production, enhancing the aesthetic effect and improving the grip. The new KronoSystem patented front won the Interzum Red Dot Design for innovation, quality and intelligent use of the material. ADVANTAGES From a functional point of view the 30° profile makes the installation process easier, requiring only standard tools and accessories. Colours Available in both a gloss and soft super-matt finish. APUOMARG The idea behind Apuomarg, a firm created in Carrara in 2012, is to transform material into a screen onto which an interplay of patterns and colours can be added. This is done using a technique that exploits the properties of light to harmoniously merge figurative art with the power of solid marble. The hand-crafted work, presented at the Milan Triennale during Design Week, was 3 metres tall and 4.5 metres wide. It consisted of 18 panels of fine-veined Carrara white statuary marble, it covered a surface area of 8 square metres and weighed 400 kg, but despite its huge size, it was just 3.4 cm thick. Each panel contained LE lighting, and when all the panels were illuminated together they formed a Chinese ideogram. ADVANTAGES Marble or decorative panels, glass, mirror, wood and marble are brought to life with images or patterns that appear on the outer surface even when the light is diffused from inside the natural veining of the marble and stone. HENRYTIMI A monolithic wall-mounted creation in hand-sculpted marble: this idea is produced by HenryTimi in collaboration with Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, which produced the Corpo GR501 storage system. The design, by Giorgio Rava, is made up of bronze elements produced using the traditional cire perdue casting process. ambientecucina project www.linak.it/deskline
