We will be spending the day at the festival on Saturday, May 21 and our departure time is 8:30 a.m. fiesta hermosa Attend Fiesta Hermosa with us on Sunday, May 29! As Southern California’s largest beachside festival that has taken place for over 40 years, Fiesta Hermosa brings fun and entertainment for the entire family. Some of its attractions include live music, arts and crafts booths, a beer and wine garden, a food court with over 30 unique vendors and a Kiddie Carnival which features a petting zoo, rides, rock climbing, pony rides and face painters. Best of all, admission to the festival is free! All proceeds from the event also go to participating charities and organizations. Transportation is $5 which will be billed to your monthly rent statement and our departure is 10:00 a.m. Malibu Journey down to Malibu with us on Saturday, May 14! Malibu is an affluent beachside city in Los Angeles that is abundant in outdoor activities, a variety of dining and quaint shopping options, as well as the Malibu Winery, Malibu Lagoon Museum and the Adamson House. In addition to the many beaches that line the coast of Malibu, there are numerous wildlife and nature trails to explore within this beautiful coastal city. Transportation is $5 and will be billed to your monthly rent statement, and our departure time is 10:30 a.m. Water Conservation Did you know that the current California drought encompasses over 98% of the state? Or that we are currently in the driest period in California’s 163 years of recorded rainfall history? Because the state is in such a severe drought, it is important that we be more water wise. There are numerous ways to conserve water, a popular one being taking a shorter shower. If you were to decrease the length of your shower by a minute, you would save around 2.5 gallons of water. Another simple way to conserve water is to get leaks fixed. If you notice a leaky showerhead or sink in your apartment, be sure to call Maintenance to have it repaired. Leaking sinks and showerheads can waste more than 20 gallons of water a day. By making small changes, we can all save gallons of water a day! G eneral Manager’s Comments It’s been said in many an election year, “as California goes, so goes the nation”. One thing is certain: California primary voters at Park Newport are 100% more likely to participate than those who are unable to vote where they live! That’s right, our residents may conveniently walk to their polling place at the Park Newport Club House, exercise their constitutional rights, and be rewarded with a donut and coffee when presenting their “I voted” sticker to a Club House employee at the front desk between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7th. Thank you for your business! If you have questions about scheduling lessons, renting a ball machine, or pricing please call us at (949) 759-9291 or email Parknewporttennis@aol.com Employee of the Month Park Newport is proud to announce Ignacio Ramos as the May Employee of the Month! Ignacio has worked at Park Newport for 29 years and says his favorite thing about Park Newport is simply “everything”. Ignacio was awarded Employee of the Month for demonstrating a consistent and steadfast dedication to resident services. Ignacio doesn’t hesistate to assist residents and solve problems right then and there on the spot. Next time you see him on the property, be sure to congratulate Ignacio on a job well done! Gym Etiquette Park Newport would like to remind our residents of the gym rules in order to create an enjoyable environment for all gym-goers. We ask that phone calls are not made in either the Cardio or Weight Room as this can be distracting to other gym-goers. We also ask that when you are done using a machine you simply wipe it down using the wipes located in the gym in order to cut down on the spreading of germs. Lastly, we ask that the gym doors be kept closed; when the doors are propped open the rooms tend to get warm as the air conditioning escapes. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in these matters.
