Prizes: Trophies, rosettes and prizes will be awarded in the ring to the person exhibiting
the dog who shall be considered the owner or agent. All claims for prizes must be made
in the judging ring before the completion of judging and the Show Secretary advised of
any discrepancy. Trophies and prizes left at the show site will not be mailed to
exhibitors.
Exhibitors Are Reminded To Keep The Show Site And Hotel Grounds Clean.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure
their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable
diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.

SCHEDULE OF POINTS FOR DIVISION 4
EFFECTIVE MAY 15, 2015
Division 4, Afghan Hounds comprised of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina
The points toward a Championship shall be awarded to the Winners Dog and
Winners Bitch of each breed or variety based on the actual number of dogs or
bitches competing in that breed or variety.
If the dog designated Winners Dog or Winners Bitch is also awarded Best of
Breed or Varity, the dogs of both sexes that have been entered for Best of Breed
or Varity Competition and that have been defeated in such competition, shall be
counted in addition to the dogs that competed in the regular classes for its sex in
calculating championship points.
If the dog designated Winners Dog or Winners Bitch is also awarded Best of
Opposite Sex to Best of Breed or Varity, the dogs of its own sex that have been
entered for Best of Breed or Varity competition that have been defeated in
competition for Best of Opposite Sex, shall be counted in addition to the dogs
that competed in the regular classes for its sex in calculating championship
points.
After points have been computed for Winners Dog and Winners Bitch subject to
the above two stipulations, the dog awarded the Best of Winners shall be
credited with the number of points calculated for Winners Dog or Winners Bitch,
whichever is greater.
In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified,
or that is dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge, or from which
all awards are withheld shall not be included. Any dog which shall have won
fifteen points shall become a Champion of Record, if six or more of said points
shall been won at two shows with a rating of three or more of the balance of said
points shall have been won under some other judge or judges than the two
judges referred above.

Grooming Space & Exercise Areas:
a. The Show Site will be available to Exhibitors for set-up Sunday Noon.
b. All attendees are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
c. There shall be neither benching, nor offering for sale of breeding, nor display of unaltered
dogs. All dogs shall be subject to all rules relating to health and veterinarians. The owners
or agents shall be responsible for the care and safety of such dogs (AKC Rules Applying to
Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 11). DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, UNENTERED DOGS
MAY NOT BE IN THE GROOMING AREA OF THE SHOW SITE.
d. No one will be allowed to sell any goods in the Grooming Area.
e. UNDER AGE DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS DURNING
SHOW HOURS.
Judging & Ring Procedure:
a. Observers will not be permitted in the ring at this Specialty.
b. Cash Prizes must be picked up in the ring by the person handling the dog. Claims for
prize money must be made in ring before the judging is over. The Show Chairman
and the Afghan Hound Club of America, Inc., disclaim any liability for cash prizes
after the judging is over.
c. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the Club nor its Show Chairman will be
responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents
of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class.
Owners or agents are responsible for their dog's presence in the judging ring. Dogs
need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for
further judging.
Trophies & Prizes:
a. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
b. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed.
Liability & Safety:
a. The show giving Club, its agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss,
damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, vendors, spectators or any of their dogs
OR property and further assume no responsibility for injury to children.
b. DO NOT leave any dogs in an unventilated vehicle.
c. All AHCA events will be held in smoke-free environments.
d. The Afghan Hound Club of America reserves the right to remove any animal in distress
from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending this dog show hereby waive any
claim for damages against the Club for such removal.
Accommodations:
IMPORTANT NOTICE: There is a $100.00 refundable, pet fee after room inspection. A
Pet Policy Letter will be presented at the time of check-in, and a refundable fee will be charged
to the guests account. Dogs MUST BE crated while left unattended in rooms. PLASTIC will
be provided by the AHCA to be put under dog crates. Guests are responsible for all property
damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet. Bathing and grooming will be in a
designated area selected by the HOTEL and the AHCA. DO NOT BATH DOGS IN THE
BATHTUBS OR HOTEL SHOWERS.
The Hotel reserves the right to charge guest's account commensurate to the cost of such
damages. The Show Committee will be notified and will immediately begin disciplinary
action under AKC Rules and Regulations, and you WILL BE SUBJECT TO SUSPENSION
OF ALL AKC PRIVILEGES.

Welcome to the 79th AHCA National Specialty. The Show Committee
and I have worked extremely hard to make sure that each and every
person and dog enjoy their fun filled week here in Atlanta. Please
respect our hotel, our guests and each other, this will ensure a healthy
fun week. Our week ahead is not all about showing and winning but
about getting together with old friends and meeting some new ones.
Our National should be a social event, so please take part and enjoy.

Breed Standard
Afghan Hound
General Appearance
The Afghan Hound is an aristocrat, his whole appearance one of dignity and aloofness with no trace
of plainness or coarseness. He has a straight front, proudly carried head, eyes gazing into the
distance as if in memory of ages past. The striking characteristics of the breed-exotic, or "Eastern,"
expression, long silky topknot, peculiar coat pattern, very prominent hipbones, large feet, and the
impression of a somewhat exaggerated bend in the stifle due to profuse trouserings-stand out
clearly, giving the Afghan Hound the appearance of what he is, a king of dogs, that has held true to
tradition throughout the ages.
Head
The head is of good length, showing much refinement, the skull evenly balanced with the
foreface. There is a slight prominence of the nasal bone structure causing a slightly Roman
appearance, the center line running up over the foreface with little or no stop, falling away
in front of the eyes so there is an absolutely clear outlook with no interference; the
underjaw showing great strength, the jaws long and punishing; the mouth level, meaning
that the teeth from the upper jaw and lower jaw match evenly, neither overshot nor
undershot. This is a difficult mouth to breed. A scissors bite is even more punishing and
can be more easily bred into a dog than a level mouth, and a dog having a scissors bite,
where the lower teeth slip inside and rest against the teeth of the upper jaw, should not be
penalized. The occipital bone is very prominent. The head is surmounted by a topknot of
long silky hair. Ears--The ears are long, set approximately on level with outer corners of the
eyes, the leather of the ear reaching nearly to the end of the dog's nose, and covered with
long silky hair. Eyes--The eyes are almond-shaped (almost triangular), never full or bulgy,
and are dark in color. Nose--Nose is of good size, black in color. Faults--Coarseness;
snipiness; overshot or undershot; eyes round or bulgy or light in color; exaggerated Roman
nose; head not surmounted with topknot.
Neck
The neck is of good length, strong and arched, running in a curve to the shoulders which
are long and sloping and well laid back. Faults--Neck too short or too thick; a ewe neck; a
goose neck; a neck lacking in substance.
Body
The back line appearing practically level from the shoulders to the loin. Strong and powerful
loin and slightly arched, falling away toward the stern, with the hipbones very pronounced;
well ribbed and tucked up in flanks. The height at the shoulders equals the distance from
the chest to the buttocks; the brisket well let down, and of medium width. Faults--Roach
back, swayback, goose rump, slack loin; lack of prominence of hipbones; too much width of
brisket, causing interference with elbows.
Tail
Tail set not too high on the body, having a ring, or a curve on the end; should never be
curled over, or rest on the back, or be carried sideways; and should never be bushy.

Legs
Forelegs are straight and strong with great length between elbow and pastern; elbows well
held in; forefeet large in both length and width; toes well arched; feet covered with long
thick hair; fine in texture; pasterns long and straight; pads of feet unusually large and well
down on the ground. Shoulders have plenty of angulation so that the legs are well set
underneath the dog. Too much straightness of shoulder causes the dog to break down in
the pasterns, and this is a serious fault. All four feet of the Afghan Hound are in line with the
body, turning neither in nor out. The hind feet are broad and of good length; the toes
arched, and covered with long thick hair; hindquarters powerful and well muscled, with
great length between hip and hock; hocks are well let down; good angulation of both stifle
and hock; slightly bowed from hock to crotch. Faults--Front or back feet thrown outward or
inward; pads of feet not thick enough; or feet too small; or any other evidence of weakness
in feet; weak or broken down pasterns; too straight in stifle; too long in hock.
Coat
Hindquarters, flanks, ribs, forequarters, and legs well covered with thick, silky hair, very fine
in texture; ears and all four feet well feathered; from in front of the shoulders; and also
backwards from the shoulders along the saddle from the flanks and the ribs upwards, the
hair is short and close, forming a smooth back in mature dogs - this is a traditional
characteristic of the Afghan Hound. The Afghan Hound should be shown in its natural state;
the coat is not clipped or trimmed; the head is surmounted (in the full sense of the word)
with a topknot of long, silky hair - that is also an outstanding characteristic of the Afghan
Hound. Showing of short hair on cuffs on either front or back legs is permissible. Fault-Lack of shorthaired saddle in mature dogs.
Height
Dogs, 27 inches, plus or minus one inch; bitches, 25 inches, plus or minus one inch.
Weight
Dogs, about 60 pounds; bitches, about 50 pounds.
Color
All colors are permissible, but color or color combinations are pleasing; white markings,
especially on the head, are undesirable.
Gait
When running free, the Afghan Hound moves at a gallop, showing great elasticity and
spring in his smooth, powerful stride. When on a loose lead, the Afghan can trot at a fast
pace; stepping along, he has the appearance of placing the hind feet directly in the foot

MEET OUR Judges

Thank you for the great honor of judging the Afghan Club of America National Specialty.
This assignment culminates my long and eventful journey with this wonderful breed. I
received my first Afghan hound as a birthday gift, from my husband Eddie, in 1973. In
spite of her antics and challenges, we learned to fall in love with the breed, and as they
say, the rest is history!
My first show dog came from the lovely Margie Pugh of "Bonanza" Afghan Hounds in
1978, and two years later, I purchased a bitch from her as well. These two dogs, namely
Am. Can. And Mex. Ch. Bonanza Red Han Solo, and Am. Can. And Mex. Ch. Bonanza C &
H Sugar Cookie, not only became my first two champions, but also my foundation. I
thus began my lifelong love affair with the beautiful Afghan Hound, and proudly bred
my dogs under the prefix " ShaCone." I have bred, owned and finished over 80
American Champions, many that are co-owned with Abbe Shaw of "Abaca" fame.
Among them were Hound Group winners, several top 10 breed winners, multiple
Specialty Best In show winners including (Ch. ShaCone’s Spirit of Abaca “Snooty” top
specialty winner for 1993), and the winner of the Bitch CC of the World Dog Show in
Mexico City (Multiple Group winning Mex., Am., World Ch. ShaCone’s Abaca Delightful
“Lolita”) and last but not least (National Sweepstakes and Veteran Sweepstakes winner,
group winning and multiple Best In Specialty winner Abaca ShaCone Native Spirit
“Apache”) to name a few.
Though I may not be as active in showing and breeding these days, I am still pursuing my
passion for Afghans by creating artwork of this exotic ancient breed that I love and
admire so much. As an accomplished artist whose works have been exhibited and now
part of the permanent collection of the AKC Dog Museum in St. Louis, Mo., I have
recently finished my first larger than life-size bronze Afghan statue and another one is in

paintings (painting landscape scenes on location) of which I have won many awards in
all forms and proud to say I have artwork in over 15 countries.
I have been licensed to judge by the AKC for 14 years, and apart from the numerous
assignments in America, I’ve also had the pleasure of judging in Canada and South
Africa. I am especially honored to have been chosen to judge the prestigious Afghan
Hound Club of America’s National Specialty in Atlanta, GA, and am so grateful for this
opportunity. Looking forward to the event, and may I wish each and every exhibitor the

My introduction to Afghan Hounds started with a silver
Miniature Poodle.
Roy and I obtained Jacques shortly after we were married. He
even had champions in his pedigree! We had never heard of
crates, nor had either of us raised a puppy. After several
mishaps, we decided that he needed obedience class. I found one close by, and I started
learning how to train my dog…or vice-versa. The trainer had German Shepherd Dogs and
invited us to the local dog show…Harrisburg Kennel Club, then a very large benched show.
We wandered around the show and came to the Afghan Hound ring. We were mesmerized
by the beauty, elegance and presence of the dogs and a couple of people let us pet them.
We came home all fired up. Roy immediately went through Dog World magazine and wrote
to all the top breeders. Many were kind enough to respond and send pictures and pedigrees,
which I started researching. Then we saw an ad in the Sunday New York Times…”older puppy
for sale…shown 3 timws…3 blue ribboms…including Westminster Kennel Club!” Well! We
contacted Sally and Wally Storch and Ahmed came to us. He was the sweetest dog ever and
he was our Afghan Hound 101 dog. After a year or so of not winning, we decided to place him
and step up. We did, and our first champion, Ammon Hall Barfly came to Kaihorn. She
finished quickly, but we couldn’t get her bred. We placed her in a great home and set out to
find a show male. Jim and Mary Nesbitt had gotten a young male back and allowed us to
have him. They called him Clipper, his registered name being Mecca’s Eclipse. Six year old,
Amy told our friend, that “Daddy was going to get Clifford”..and Clifford he was from that day
on.
That was the real beginning of Kaihorn. Cliff did very well, both as a show dog and as a
producer. Time went on…Roy wanted to branch out and judge more, so we ventured into
Salukis, with a beautiful bitch from Rodger and Terry Smith, and a wonderful dog from
Winifred Lucas. Amy wanted a dog of her own…that was the beginning of the Wirehaired
Dachshunds.
I started judging, too, in 1973. Roy and I divorced in 1980 and I started Phase II. I went to
work for AKC and worked on all the slide shows and videos. What a wonderful learning
experience! Throughout those years, I kept current with the Afghan Hound and Dachshund
worlds. I helped my dear friend, Ottalee move from Pointers to Afghans with the acquisition
of the lovely Ararat’s Aerobic Dancer, who I later co-owned.. I finally started traveling less for
AKC and obtained Solo’s Harbor Mayden W,( Bridget Wire Dachshund). In 1990, I married
Don Martin of Basset Hound fame, moved to the Chicago area, resumed showing and
judging, and learned about Basset Hounds.
The time has flown. I judge two groups, Hounds and Terriers, as well as Juniors.
We are 7 generations down from Bridget, and our new Afghan Hound puppy arrived 2 weeks
ago. Dante is happily chasing his older half brother, Bentley around my dog-sitter’s yard.
I love judging. I especially love judging Specialties, and judging National Specialties puts the
icing on the cake. To judge the National Specialty of my most cherished breed is the stuff
dreams are made of. Thank you for awarding me this opportunity of a lifetime. I will do my
best to prove worthy.

I began my "obsession" with dogs when I was in the
eighth grade when I borrowed a Dachshund from our
neighbors to show at matches. I then took her to an
obedience class and we were awarded "Most Improved"!! From that point on,
I was “hooked”!! I won my first Best In Show with my Whippet, Ch. Amigo’s
Amistoso Payoso, C.D. when I was a Senior in High School and also qualified to
go to Westminster to compete in the Junior Showmanship competition. I got
my Professional Handlers License when I was 21 and was fortunate to have the
opportunity to show SBIS and Multiple BIS Ch. Amulet’s Pinball Wizard and Ch.
Coastwind Kohoutek as a couple of the first Afghans I showed. That was during
the height of Afghan popularity and I quickly became enamored with the
Breed. … . In the late 70’s my best friend Stephen Fisher and I found that we
had very similar ideas about Afghan Hounds and Shylo was born. The first
“Shylo” litters were whelped in the early 80’s and we quickly became the most
Successful “New” kennel the breed had seen. We were the top Afghan
breeders in the U.S. 1986-1991 with 34 new champions. In the years since, we
have bred well over 100 American champion Afghans and have bred, owned,
and finished for others over 150. This includes several all breed and specialty
Best-in-show winners as well as 20 different group winning Afghans. Our most
successful dogs can be found “somewhere back there” in the pedigrees of a
large number of current show Afghans in the U.S. and include Ch. Shylo
Sebastian of Patmar, Ch. Shylo Marquis Malachite, and Ch. Shylo Darktown
Strutter. Though we did almost no breeding for well over a decade, in the last
few years we’ve enjoyed a renewed interest in exhibiting and breeding and
have recently imported dogs from Sweden, Spain, and Australia all of which are
now American Grand Champions.
In the last few years we’ve also been able to pursue our second love,
Greyhounds. Though we’ve had only a few Greyhound litters we’ve had great
success in that breed as well, and have bred over 30 American champions and
several all breed and specialty Best-in-show winners, including three Best of
Breed winners at Westminster. In 2011 we were pleased to have the top Sire
and Dam in the breed in the U.S., and our bitch “Spot” won the Greyhound
National Specialty last year.

NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on
the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with
competition present ,in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15
years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close, have not won three First
Places, with competition present ,in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE SENIOR CLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 15years and under18 years old on
the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with
competition present ,in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN JUNIOR CLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on
the day of the show and who ,at the time entries close ,have won three First Places, with
competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15
years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places,
with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN SENIORCLASS-For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years old on
the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with
competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18
years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with
competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will
be November 1-October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are
required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have
already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to
the Open Class to complete for the following year.
Best Jr. Handler: The Junior Handler placed first in each of the regular Junior Showmanship
Classes, if undefeated in any other Junior Showmanship Class at this show, shall automatically
be eligible to compete for this prize. A minimum of two class winners must be present to compete
for the award.
Each dog handled in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be entered and shown in
one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the same show, or must be entered for Junior
Showmanship only.
The winner of first place in each Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice
to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the corresponding Open Class at the
same show provided the win is the 3rd first place award with competition and further provided that
there is one more Junior Handler competing in the Open Class.

My name is Connie Parrish. I began my dog obedience career at the
early age of 8 as a 4-H’er, training and showing a Rough Collie until I
entered college in 1974. I then took a few years off to pursue a
professional working career as a social worker for the State of Georgia.
I got the dog bug again and switched breeds trying Shetland Sheepdogs,
a Standard Poodle and a Doberman but was not happy with any of
those breeds. So in 1994, a club member gave me a Bedlington Terrier
and the rest is history. I have had the top winning Bedlington in
obedience for many years and am currently working on earning a UD on
the 6th Bedlington in the history of the breed. That dog is currently the
only one in the history of the breed to ever win a High in Trial. I am
presently working as a provisional judge in all rally classes and in open
obedience. I am very excited about being invited to Judge at the Afghan
Nationals in October 2015.

OBEDIENCE CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS
Championship points will be recorded for those dogs which have earned a First,
Second, Third, or Fourth place ribbon competing in the Open B or Utility B Class
according to the schedule of points established by the Board of Directors of The
American Kennel Club.
In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified,
or is excused from the ring by the judge will not be included.
Requirements for the Obedience Trial Champion as follows:
The dog must have won:
1. 100 points;
2. A first place in Utility B with at least three dogs in competition;
3. A first place in Open B with at least six dogs in competition;
4. An additional first place under the conditions of 2 or 3 above;
5. All three first places under three different judges
One of the required first places may have been won at a Specialty Show.
Please Note: January 1, 2009 Obedience Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 3, Jump Heights
required with entry. Include Jump Height on entry form with class. Entries without Jump
Height will be judged at the end of the class. Move-ups will be permitted in accordance with
Obedience Regulations in Chapter 1 Section 16.
Transfers will be permitted in accordance with Obedience Regulations in Chapter 1 Section
16a.
A refund will be made in accordance with AKC Regulations, Ch.1 Sec 27, if a female is
withdrawn from competition no later than one-half hour prior to the start of the first class,
because it came into season. The Club will retain a processing fee of 35% of the entry fee.

Junior Courser Test A and Test B & QC Test – Open to hounds at least 12 months of age.
Qualified Courser Test: Open to hounds at least 12 months of age. The handler presenting Qualifying Hound
shall be responsible for providing the Testing Hound for the qualifying course.
Open Stake: Open to any eligible Afghan Hound that has obtained an AKC Qualified Courser certificate. This
requirement will be waived for hounds that have earned a Field Championship title earned from ASFA or CKC.
ASFA or CKC Field Champions must submit a copy of their title certificate to the host club when they enter their
first AKC Open Stake. Championship points earned from the Open Stake will only count toward a Field Champion
title. Hounds that have earned an AKC Field Championship title are not eligible to enter the Open Stake.
Veteran Stake: Open to any eligible Afghan Hound that is 7 years old or older on the day of the trial and also
meets the qualifications of the Open Stake or Specials Stake..
Specials Stake: Open to any eligible Afghan Hound which is an AKC Field Champion.
AKC Conformation Champion Stake: Open to any eligible Afghan Hound that is an AKC Breed Champion and also
meets the qualifications of the Open Stake.

Afghan Hounds must be one year old or older on the day of the trial.
Stakes shall be split each time the entry is sufficient to hold two or more five
point majors.
Hounds disqualified from AKC, ASFA or CKC Field Trials may be entered
in the Junior Coursing Tests.
Bitches in season or lame hounds will be excused.
Hounds not present at the time of Roll Call will be scratched.
Battery powered, continuous loop lure equipment will be used. Back up
equipment will be available.
Lure will consist of plastic

Mr. Dean Wright
I started in dogs with Miniature and Standard Poodles in the early 60’s. I
bought my first two sight hounds both Ibizan Hounds in 1967. I was the
president of the Ibizan Hound Club of the United States in 1979 when the
breed was recognized by the AKC.
I owned the first Ibizan Breed Champion, CH Sunking Eterna of Treybeau, FCh.
“Eterna” was also the first Ibizan Hound ASFA Field Champion. I owned and
bred the number 1, number 2 and 5 other Ibizan Hounds along with the
number 1 Greyhound in the lifetime top ten as of the 2000 ASFA Historical
Book. I also owned the number1 Saluki thru 1997...
I have said “Lure coursing has been my passion since I saw the reaction of one
of my Ibizan Hounds the first time he saw the lure moving along the ground.
This hound that had just been bored to death in the show ring came to life and
so did my desire to help sight hounds have the opportunity to chase the lure.”
I was hired by the AKC in 1991 to write their lure coursing program. And
worked as the AKC Lure coursing Director for the next twelve years. I have also
served the American Sight hound Field Association as Regional Director, Second
Vice President, and First Vice President and was recently elected to serve again
as Regional Director, in 2012 I was elected to serve again as the First Vice
President of ASFA...
I now reside in Holtwood, PA with my wife Cackie Vroom and Greyhounds, and
Whippets. My last remaining Ibizan Hound passed away in November of
2009,my last Saluki in May of 2011..
After 39 years of Lure Coursing I still enjoy watching the new hound run for the
first time. When they realize they are off lead and their long instilled instinct to
chase kicks in and they are off doing what they have been bred to do for
centuries.
I thank the Afghan Hound Club of America for giving me the opportunity to
watch your hounds compete and judge their performance. .
