About us
Altius Fotovoltaic is the leading Romanian
photovoltaic modules manufacturer. The PV
plant is located in Giurgiu county, 60km west
of Bucharest, with a 130 MWp yearly
production capacity.
Altius is offering a wide range of efficient and
reliable photovoltaic
modules based on
Crystalline silicon (c-Si), multi-crystalline silicon
(multi-Si) and mono-crystalline silicon (monoSi), their power ranging from 80W to 310W.
The ISO-9001 certified production facility and control process guarantee the consistent high quality for every
product from our production lines. Our products are TÜV SUD certified and compliant with IEC standards
for photovoltaic design and safety (IEC 61215 2nd Edition and IEC- 61730).
Our state-of-the-art production builds our high quality PV modules in various dimensions, high product
efficiency, reliable electrical performance, esthetic product appearance and carbonless package.

Altius production line
The X2 Cell is a high speed solar cell stringer with output up to 2400 cells/hours. This is
extremely flexible product allowing the production of full and half cells in two and three buss-bar
configuration by advanced induction soldering system. The framing machine is integrated online
and operated with automatic loading and unloading.

Class A+A+A+ solar simulator, testing all
crystalline silicon PV modules with sizes up
to 110 x 200 cm2.

Electrical Safety: Insulation Resistance and
HI-pot
durability
are
automatically
measured and results written to local data
base.
EL-images can be recorded with 200 μm
resolution by capturing six 8.3 Mpixel
pictures with two moving cameras. With this
image quality, crack detecting software
packages can be applied with throughput of
90 modules per hour.

On grid photovoltaic systems
•
On grid connected PV system is an electricity
generating solar PV system that is connected to
the utility grid. A grid connected PV system
consists in solar modules, one or several
inverters, a power conditioneing unit and a grid
connection equipment. They range from small
to residential and commercial rooftop systems
to large utility scale solar power stations. When
conditions are right, the grid connected PV
system supplies the excess power, beyond
consumption by the connected load, to the
utility grid.

Residential grid connected photovoltaic power systems whiche have a capacity less than 10kW can
meet the load of most consumers. They can feed the excess power to the grid, which in this case
acts as a battery for the system. The feed-back is done through a meter to monitor the transfered
power.

Photovoltaic wattage may be less than average consumption, in which case the consumer will
continue to purchase grid energy, but a lesser amount than previously.
Off grid photovoltaic systems

The term off grid reffers to not being
connected to a grid, mainly used in terms of
not being connected to the main or national
electrical grid. In electricity, off-grid can be
stand-alone systems or mini-grids typically to
provide a smaller community with electricity.
Off-grid electrification is an approach to
access electricity used in countries and areas
with little access to electricity, due to scattered
or distant population. It can be any kind of
electricity generation. The term off the grid
can refer to living in a self-sufficient manner
without reliance on one or more public
utilities.
Off-the-grid homes are autonomos, they do not rely on municipal water supply, sewer, natural
gas, electrical power grid, or similar utility services. A true off-grid house is able to operate
completely independently of all traditional public utility services, composting waste, and paying
nothing for utilities.

these areas the electrical energy
is missing and the only real
solution is the use of
submersible water pumps
powered with photovoltaic
energy.
Drop irrigations
Modern irrigation systems are
bringing the water directly to the
roots of the plants. The
submersible pumps powered with
photovoltaic systems are used for
isolated areas, which have no
access to the electrical network.
Water is directly distributed from
the pump or through the gravity
retention tank.

PV public lighting systems
•
Photovoltaic lighting systems are
representing an alternative for the
traditional systems powered by the
national power grid. Global statistics
show that street lighting has 10%
share of total electricity consumption.

Gradual replacement of conventional
lighting systems with solutions based
on photovoltaic systems could lead to
electricity economy up to 10% ,
without taking into account the costs
of connecting to the grid. Another
advantage for PV lighting systems is
that it can be used everywhere
including where there is no grid.
