He is a brilliant singer-songwriter and guitarist with a lifelong passion for exploring the endless power of the song to communicate By any standard, Kenny Loggins’ commercial impact has been extraordinary; twelve of his albums have gone platinum and beyond. In a world of one hit wonders and fifteen minute sensations, Kenny Loggins has enjoyed hit songs in four straight decades -- a remarkable testament to his exceptional craftsmanship and stamina. To this day, Kenny Loggins continues to write and record at the height of his powers as a singer and a songwriter. This is something that Loggins proves every time he takes the stage to sing his soulful songs straight from the heart. Though he performed with Jim Messina as one of significant recording and touring acts of the 70s, he is best known as a solo performer with such hits as “Footloose,” “Danny’s Song” and “House At Pooh Corner,” “This is it,” “Danger Zone (from “Top Gun),” I’m Alright” (from “Caddyshack’), “Whenever I Call You Friend” and many more. In 1980 he won the Best Male Pop Vocal Grammy Award. 2011 ORT MONTREAL BENEFIT GALA HONOUREE ORT Montreal is honoured that Charles Sirois, C.M., C.Q. has agreed to be the honouree at the 2011 ORT Montreal Benefit Gala on November 28, 2011. Mr. Sirois is a leading entrepreneur in Quebec and Canada and has a deep commitment to eradicating poverty in third world countries. ORT and Enablis, which Charles Sirois founded and chairs, share a common vision of educating and nurturing young people and giving them the skills needed to secure productive lives. Charles Sirois is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Telesystem Ltd., a private holding company of which he is the founder and principal shareholder. Mr. Sirois is also Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), one of Canada’s largest chartered banks, as well as Chairman of Enablis Entrepreneurial Network, a private sector-led and global non-profit organization dedicated to support entrepreneurs in developing countries. Mr. Sirois is also a Founding Partner of Tandem Expansion, a private investment fund focused on growth capital for high potential Canadian technology companies Mr. Sirois has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke, a Master’s degree in Finance from Université Laval (Québec City), as well as honorary doctorates from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), University of Ottawa, Concordia University, Université Laval and École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). Mr. Sirois received the Order of Canada in 1994 and was made a knight of the Ordre National du Québec in April 1998.
